I think its worse than that. The world will be more dangerous at least for another generation. People were on the fence in the US, but now its clear that voting doesnt matter, and absolutely nuclear weapons will be sought after by a lot of countries.
This is a multidimensional error...
But then some economist, at an ivy league I might add, will tell you that AI is no big deal...
AI companies are hiring people to produce data for practically any job you can imagine: chefs, management consultants, archivists, private investigators, rental-counter clerks. It is, as one industry veteran put it, the largest harvesting of human expertise ever attempted.
It would be funny if the consequences of what is happening weren't so tragic....
I am no longer surprised by EU actions.
It took 2 geopolitical crises to make the #EU understand that #nuclear has to be part of the energy mix.
However, it will now be years, if not decades to build these plants, and one wonders where they plan to source the uranium or plutonium for them...
The misguided frenzied rhetoric of a few years ago, while well intentioned, has had strategic consequences.
Good to see it is being corrected and nuclear energy is once again being considered strategic.
Across OECD countries, funding to do research is being cut.
In Spain, there is a 25% reduction in money available for universities to do research in the new budget.

Ive tried Libre Office. I understand the Austrian government is using it. Its okay at this point. MS office is still by far better in terms of ease of use, and features available.
But im always open to alternatives and if they are open source, so much the better
Because we are waiting for you to tell us the alternative(s)...
100%.
Unfortunately, there will be consequences across the board from everything going on right now, and they could have been avoided had we acted in a timely and strategic manner.
By the time the problem is upon us, the solutions are costly and unpleasant.
But humans, we like the hard way!
Agreed.
I am amused but no longer surprised at how little attention current world affairs get from most people beyond superficial acknowledgement that they are happening.
Same is true for climate change.
What do people care about? What are people's raison d'Γͺtre?
Well thats a relief, because temperature will easily surpass a 2C increase

For the most part, sad for society and the world at large!
The writing is also way different than what we find today.
Also goes to show, objectivity, especially when it comes to sports, is hard to find...
This is tough, because there are people who need this and benefit from it, but the reason people are doing it is depressing....
I'd love to get people's thoughts on this.

A temporary weakening of the atmosphereβs chemical capacity to break down methane, combined with elevated emissions from tropical wetlands, drove the sharp increase in atmospheric methane observed in 2020 to 2021, according to a new study in Science. https://scim.ag/4kmtoOQ
Luckily, I'm a researcher so if you share I'll read and drop a comment! ;)
Research doesn't get much traction unfortunately π
Will do!
Interesting, thanks for the video!

France has a well established record of announcing ambitious projects and not following through.
Why is that? What is gained by talking beautifully, and not following through with anything?
