Not disagreeing with the thought behind this post, but pretending like the media blitz in the runup to Operation Iraqi Freedom was in any way operating "skillfully" or "effectively" is giving them way more credit than they're due. It was bad, and anyone who fell for it is guilty.

I mean, yes, there was a strong effort to sell it, but on the other hand, a much weaker effort to sell this war this time around still provides a baseline level of support way beyond any arguments made on the merits
