for the blur you can merge everything, copy the merged layer, ctrl z to the unmerged version and paste the merged image. then apply the blur on the merged and use a soft eraser to "unblur" the focal point

idk exactly what you mean by filter here, but for the purple effect you can put all the layers into a folder and clip the effect layer to the folder!

yup, but for art it's thankfully pretty easy to find out people that have no idea what they are talking about, just look at their artwork. the role of a teacher should be taken more seriously, if you can't apply what you teach than you shouldn't teach.

true, but that's because of a deeper problem. most people are parroting what they heard that is good for you, but there is always lost info in the process. to get to the good info you need to find good sources, master artists instead of youtubers, books instead of posts, etc.

I think it helps but you need the correct mentality. If you only draw "flat" perspectives, like 3 point but every side of the cube is the same size, it won't help much. Also thinking about and planning the perspective before drawing helped me lots

maybe I should stop posting on SNS and just post in esoteric drawing games man that might be the play

Happy 2026, everyone! My goals for this year are:

- be more consistent with art.
- keep learning watercolor, at least to the point that I'm not uncomfortable using it.
- read (at least) one book every month.
- --youtube
- ++exercise

I feel like it's much better at showing your posts to your followers, but hashtags are way less powerful, so getting the first bump is harder. but I am in the cattegory of people that haven't put any effort at all so idk
