Joined Duolingo during winter break. Thought it was a good diversion to break the Meta habit. Now, I’m wondering if it too should be ditched…

Now trying @eh-now.bsky.social and so far so good. Streamlined platform, succinct posts, easy to find groups and already found news about donating some of my artwork to a local organization. Also, reminder we’re back on water restrictions. πŸ€£βœ¨πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Spring is on its way and this is what it looks like in my part of the world.

At the time, she was disappointed by the answer.
Now, she understands it.

Why Tumbler Ridge is resilient | CBC News The town at the centre of a national tragedy has faced collapse and hardship but continues to persevere.

I have been privileged to be reporting on Tumbler Ridge for more than a decade.

I wanted to provide a little more context for why it is so incredibly unique and why the word "resilient" keeps popping up when people talk about it

It's a town that doesn't give up

Bluesky is turning out to be somewhat (a lot) disappointing. Just saw this now. Perhaps it will get better in time. Or perhaps we’re all just getting tired of connecting through devices and turn to more human forms of communication. In the meantime, I’ll look for your newsletter in my inbox. ✨

Albertan Independence? Meet Reality UCP voters are split, while NDP voters overwhelmingly oppose leaving Canada

A reminder that Albertan independence is not popular

Pollara found Albertan independence at 19%

Ipsos found it at 28%

Research Co found it at 31% (Which I covered below)

All had strong majorities against independence

Looks great! ✨ I am also new to it and also don’t love it yet; however, I do like the resulting texture of the yarn I’m spinning - seems like maybe a better way to spin mohair.(?)

24 drawings in pencil and pen. Mostly black green and yellow.

Here are my 24 drawings for #AbstractAdvent2025.

We’ve been using Abstract Advent at work to start off lessons this month: abstract shapes taken from children’s book illustrations that we turned into whatever came to mind.

Some really tricky ones this year but I did enjoy the process.

Well done. I fell off the bus this year. Hope to pick up the shapes and do something with in the next few days.
