If you think the Confederacy is an important part of your heritage, may I suggest also adopting iPod Socks as a heritage? They were around for longer.

Love this, but it shouldn’t take “tens of thousands of people” for a state to *not execute someone* when there’s doubt the person did anything wrong.

I'm not really sure how, but it's now been FOUR YEARS since I launched the Accessible Social website. The site debuted on March 9, 2022, one day earlier than I intended. I had planned on launching the site on March 10, my birthday, but I had no chill and couldn't wait to share it with everyone. 😅🎉🥳

I just want something reliable. I don’t really care about foldout displays, screens where the keyboard should be, or anything like that. Sure, I’d like the MacBook notch to disappear, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

One of the things I never understand about tech reviewers is the whole need to have the hardware look different like every two years. If a form factor works, it works.

I feel like we in the US have leaders whose idea of strength was formed by the WWE and 90s Steven Seagal action flicks. They also seem to think Call of Duty is real.

Not gonna lie. I kinda want that new #iPadAir with 12 GB of RAM.

The issue I have with my 10th gen iPad is its 4 GB of RAM. Feels like it’s always reloading apps.

The U.S. military is not any president’s plaything. The Constitution puts the responsibility on Congress alone to decide whether and when to take on the profound costs of war.

Statement from Dario Amodei on our discussions with the Department of War A statement from our CEO on national security uses of AI

I want to make it abundantly clear that I am an AI skeptic and am incredibly cautious about adopting it in any realm of my life, but I’m still glad #Anthropic is taking this stand. Unfortunately, our Dept. or War (gag) has plenty of other alternatives.

Blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol dies in Buffalo. A nearly blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol miles from his home dies in Buffalo after having been missing for nearly a week.

Given the statements from #Buffalo cops, the medical examiner, and Border Patrol, none of them should be investigating this.

For me, curiosity is the best cure for prejudice. Go to international art or food fairs, grocery stores, festivals. Visit a Black chuch. Be the minority in a setting (if that’s not your daily experience). Other cultures and languages are less intimidating the more you expose yourself to them. (End)

So, the takeaways:

1. Racism is still racism if it’s unintentional.
2. If confronted, be curious, not defensive.
3. Jokes are a common way we defend and preserve racism.
4. Different isn’t bad. It’s just different.

(Cont.)

Now before you chime in with, “But those are just jokes,” I’ll remind you that jokes are rooted in values. If you didn’t agree with it, you wouldn’t think it’s funny. Additionally, humor is one of the most effective ways of spreading ideas. Jokes rooted in racism spread and preserve racism. (Cont.)

2. It demeans naturally different eating habits. It might not be cats and dogs, but other cultures use different sources of meat and protein than the US. It might be alligator. It might be crickets. But different isn’t wrong, and it isn’t gross. It’s just different. (Cont.)

25.02.2026 15:44 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

1. It reinforces negative stereotypes of unsanitary eating habits in other cultures. It equates “foreign” with “dirty” or “unsafe.” It teaches you to think of the culinary traditions of other cultures as less-than. (Cont.)

We can also be so used to certain forms of racism that we become desensitized to them. For example, joking about neighborhood dogs and cats going missing when a new family-owned Chinese or Mexican restaurant opens up is racist in at least two ways (Cont.):

So we have to be open to accepting that you or I might say or do something offensive. Then, when confronted, instead of being defensive and saying something like, “I’m not racist!” try, “I don’t want to do something racist. How can I do better?” (Cont.)

25.02.2026 15:44 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Racism is insidious. Too often, we only think of it in big terms like overt acts of violence. We also tend to think of it as only intentional. If I didn’t *intend* for something to be racist, then it wasn’t. But we can carry unacknowledged prejudices. We can do harm without knowing it. (Cont.)

This is cool as hell: An app designed to ping people about nearby smartglasses.

Also cool: The creator was inspired by @404media.co coverage, a great illustration of why their journalism is so essential. This kind of work is funded by paid subscribers so become one of those if you can.

Not only has Donald Trump emboldened overt racism, he's also subtly emboldened us white people who consider ourselves anti-racist by changing the baseline for what constitutes racism. We think as long as we're not in flaming Klan hoods like him, we're fine.

And we're not. We're not fine at all.

One of the greatest deceptions of our time is the false narrative that tells us we should be more concerned about a poor person misusing the welfare system or an immigrant being here illegally than we are about the ultra wealthy abusing the system and cruel people having unchecked power over us all.
