Take it out of their pensions, every current and retired Congressional rep and President who let this happen.

Netanyahu has been goading the U.S. for years to go to war with Iran but he was the only one foolish enough to take the bait. It's ultimately his decision and his responsibility.

I'm sure the parents of the dead schoolchildren who we bombed will be comforted to know that Trump had good intentions.

This guy should never have been allowed out of his Tesla cubicle. He should stick to managing calls from Tesla owners about why they can't get their doors to open.

It's the same with Congress. When Congressional Republicans decide they need a scapegoat to deflect responsibility from Trump, they suddenly remember how to ask tough questions in hearings and they make short work of the clowns testi-lying before them.

Every now and then, Fox loosens the leash and reveals that every single one of their star hosts--Bartiromo, Hannity, Ingraham--knows how to do responsible journalism. It doesn't really matter because they jump back on the Trump gravy train almost immediately.

I love this film. It is a genuinely philosophical inquiry and a dynamic art film.

It would be only fair to the reader to say frankly in advance that the attitude of any person toward this story will be distinctly influenced by his theories of the Negro race. If he believes that the Negro in America and in general is an average and ordinary human being, who under given environment develops like other human beings, then he will read this story and judge it by the facts adduced. If, however, he regards the Negro as a distinctly inferior creation, who can never successfully take part in modern civilization and whose emancipation and enfranchisement were gestures against nature, then he will need something more than the sort of facts that I have set down. But this latter person, I am not trying to convince. I am simply pointing out these two points of view, so obvious to Americans, and then without further ado, I am assuming the truth of the first. In fine, I am going to tell this story as though Negroes were ordinary human beings, realizing that this attitude will from the first seriously curtail my audience.
W. E. BURGHARDT DU BOIS
Atlanta, December, 1934

I'd forgotten how hard the preface to DuBois's "Black Reconstruction" (1934) went...and am saddened by how contemporary it still feels.

On this week's episode we looked at the dispensary accounts for the hospital which showed the purchase of leeches. Here you can see an example from our collections of a pot used to store leeches πŸͺ±πŸͺ±

This is a beautiful object! I used to keep live leeches at our museum. Do you know how they were fed while they were not in use?

The Feds Targeted Charlotte. Now a Local Democrat Who Helped ICE Faces Voters. - Bolts North Carolina lawmaker Carla Cunningham voted to mandate compliance with ICE, and derided immigrants on the House floor. The Democrat faces an intense March primary.

JUST IN: North Carolina's Dem lawmaker Carla Cunningham gave the GOP the decisive vote to pass a law forcing police to comply with ICE. She said "all cultures are not equal."

She just lost reelection BIG in the Dem primary to a progressive pastor & activist, Rodney Sadler. 70% to 22%!

It's even more ridiculous because Crockett is a Baptist and daughter of a pastor who was endorsed by the National Baptist Convention. None of this is disqualifying. What's important is that political candidates respect the first amendment.

This is my feeling about Hanukkah as well. Sometimes, the Americanized, assimilated or otherwise revised version of a holiday or custom is better than the original.

I am generally ambivalent about Sanders but I would love to see this new wealth tax gain traction. It is a needed correction to generations of regressive tax policy and backing away from social welfare.

Hmm...does it have to be either/or? "Shared vision" is too strong but surely the U.S.-Israel relationship (like the Saudi-U.S. one) isn't completely irrelevant here.

There are millions of working class people with good politics who didn’t get Nazi tattoos and wouldn’t treat their staff poorly.

Some of them surely live in Maine! A few of them are probably great communicators!

This ain’t the guy.
