I have many things to look forward to in 2026, not least speaking at the symposium "1725-2025: Historical and Contemporary Links Between Scotland and South Asia”, organised by @tgifatima.bsky.social and Sheelalipi Sahana at @iashedinburgh.bsky.social in April. The CfP is now live, check it out!

As part of the schedule, we also have planned talks by Professor Roger Jeffery, Professor Bashabi Fraser, and Dr @olebirklaursen.bsky.social ; a film screening and Q&A with director Sana Bilgrami; and a walking tour of South Asian heritage landmarks within Edinburgh city centre.

ECRs, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds, Global South connections and a history of research interests centring on the wider South Asia region, are invited to approach this ‘Scottish-Indian question’ from a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives.
