i haven't thought about this in a long time, but thinking back on it makes me so happy
i mostly did basic freelance graphic design work for him and one day he asked "can you draw backgrounds?" and that kind of faith is incredible
when i first started learning 3D, my supervisor (who didn't even know i was learning 3D) gave me a chance and paid $600 per background and i've never known success like that ever again
i've wanted to do commissions forever but i always talk myself out of it, but someone told me about YCH/'surprise me' options which takes some of the stress off, SO we shall see
