This paper presents our research using nontargeted chemical analysis to determine the composition of tire tread leachates in simulated natural environments, and assesses aquatic toxicity and mechanisms of response in zfish 🐠
🌿 Heat trials have started!
Potatoes have been planted across 90 plots at MSU's Montcalm Research Center. Heat will be applied during key growth stages, testing how the plants respond to warmer air/soil. After they've grown, we'll analyze them to learn about heat stress resilience!

This collaborative project investigates the chemical composition of automobile tire tread particle leachates and their aquatic toxicity in zebrafish embryos. We also examined the impacts of photoirradiation on these systems, with implications for photolysis and photodegradation in natural systems.
Our newest paper is officially available in Environmental Pollution as Open Access! A special congratulations to first author Jenielle Domaoal, a former undergraduate researcher, who just published her first manuscript! 🥳
