trump and the republicans' plan is to keep the united states as a market-of-last-resort for the saudis and other countries with big oil reserves as the rest of the world transitions to solar+batteries+EVs

Farm labor is absolutely backbreaking and largely can't function profitably without intense exploitation or much higher consumer prices (which, look around, come on now), automating more of it seems good to me.
