Maybe Trump banging himself in the crotch with the board counts as ‘playing’?

“That’s right boys, I’m machine generated, so I can’t be copyright protected.
I also can’t, technically, say anything or even demonstrate volition, but don’t tell the stenographers at Forbes!”
Love to see more of this.
“Do you have thoughts on why Obama and Biden were both able to secure the elections in 2016 and 2024 but you failed in 2020?”
Very excited that we're somehow getting another day of discourse out of The Florsheim Affair, one of the most delightful stories of this awful last year and change. Keep on clompin' boys! defector.com/report-presi...

Love ya Steve, but seems like a rhetorical question…
At this point I doubt he can spell chess.
If you watch it with sound off this “literally” looks like a hostage video.
Even Newsom called this BS for what it is.🙄
Even as a cynical scholar of rape culture, I'm shocked that this isn't the headline story on domestic politics everywhere right now. It's just an unfathomable abuse of power, in clear violation of the law.
Imagine being the poor naval attaché trying to explain why escorts would be a disaster for both the navy and fully loaded LNG tankers to Whiskey Pete and Trump.
“No, punching the water won’t help. Let’s try this again with these sock puppets…”
CNN: Iran has begun laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Another job in bar management and mixology lost to AI…
Moments like these a little voice in my head asks, “how the *#%+ did we ever lose the Nathan’s Mustard Yellow Belt to Japan?”

Cal hasn’t learned how to carry himself like a marquee player yet.
It came up a bit last year with the press, but it generally came across as kind of endearing. ‘Holy crap, there is a catcher called the Big Dumper destroying the ball… IN SEATTLE!’
But he blew it on and off the field here.
This is just astonishingly great reporting.
All of the crises the White House has claimed over the last 14 months were planned in advance. All of them.
And however much contempt you have for media outlets who reverently relayed Trump's claim to have no relation to Project 2025, it isn't enough.
Weird, a world without Donald Trump as President is my goto search on PornHub.🤷♂️
They are threatening me with fantasy porn again pup.
Again, classifier stuff is where is really shines. “Break this up into coherent sentences or paragraphs” is something it should be able to do very well, without needing a Dyson sphere to power it.
The generative plagiarism applications are a lot less impressive to me, at least so far.
Worked with one of their original tech leads (at another company). We were on the leading edge of adding gaussian mixture models (GMM).
My early LMM/TNN work was in analysis of imaging to find material defects.
I’m still pretty skeptical of most GPT applications, but this one…🤷♂️
When the ACC portion of one’s brain isn’t fully developed but they live in an echo chamber of equally clueless twits constantly telling each other they are very special boys…
Additional note: I am personally only really familiar with text->speech from the HMM era up to DNN/RNNs. I’ve casually followed TNN application (BERT, GPT, etc.) but am no expert.
It is probably more than models passing meta data. How you filter and encode sound (raw ADC samples) can greatly improve accuracy for certain types of classification./end
Think of it this way, I can have a huge training set to recognize the “beer”. Lots of speakers, lots of contexts.
To maximize that accuracy, the model ignores all kinds of variation in pitch and pacing - things you might use to distinguish speakers.
That’s where “was ‘beer’ expected?” can help./1
Wasn’t trying to imply you are not technical, just that it’s pretty tough to cover well in skeet format.
“[L]iterally”?
If Morning Memo has helped you keep your wits about you, steady your balance, or make some sense of the senseless during the first year of the Trump II presidency, then please seriously consider becoming a TPM member.

Markets are vibes and manipulation. We have a real energy crunch unfolding, but we are still at the point where small gestures, like claiming near victory and releasing Russian oil, can placate the billionaire class - who, on average, are dumber than a bag of rocks.
