Having run a few sessions as a DM now, I definitely understand the feeling of never being sure people enjoyed it. Everyone seemed to be having fun, but then no one says anything after so the doubts start to creep in.

Anyone got a good table of random items for loot/rewards? Preferably one that has some completely random and/or silly items

It’s so good! I listened to the audiobook and loved it

Now that I’m running games, I have found that my impulse for nonsense may have multiplied. I love the idea of causing random chaos that my players don’t suspect.

The best part was his name - Grimble Bimble Riff Raff Trimble Fimble Scramble Rat. He expected the entire thing to be pronounced every time. It’s the closest I’ve ever come to breaking @snarkandbourbon.bsky.social and it happens at character intro

In a relatively recent one shot I created a bugbear wild magic sorcerer who was a theater major who was kicked out of college for wild magic surges endangering cast mates. He dumped strength and all of his spells were meant for the stage, so he did zero damage.

Now I’m about to start a new campaign in Cryptid Creeks, and I’ve found a way to do it again. This time: Scooter.

Second, I made Rizzo as a rogue in 5e for a one shot. This also included a childhood imaginary friend, so he had “Bepe” the king prawn.

First, in Scum and Villainy I made a character named Bonzo. The canonical twin brother of Gonzo.

Does anyone else ever incorporate a secret plan when creating ttrpg characters? I’ve done one in most game systems I’ve played so far. My secret plan? Playing as a Muppet.
