Elections matter and Ontario voters need to vote for change because Ford is destroying everything
In the last 24 hours, Iran has:
- Struck three ships trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz, disabling a Thai cargo ship
- Blown up a large oil storage facility in Oman
- Struck two oil tankers at harbor in Iraq, setting both ablaze.
- Blown up oil storage tanks next to Bahrainβs main airport
I pine for the days when this kind of debate did not seem so inconsequential.
(I didnβt realize reboiling water somehow degraded it.)
It was not, but I appreciate your attention to using precise language.

Ban civilian handgun ownership now.

But why Stryker? I guess because they could.
ββ¦products and services for a wide range of medical fields, including orthopedics, surgical equipment, neurotechnology, and spine careβ doesnβt seem like a blow to the US economy or critical infrastructure.
So to summarise: You failed to take out the regime. You failed to destroy nuclear material. You failed to eradicate Iran's retaliatory capacity. You brought chaos to the Middle East. You killed god knows how many people. You destabilised your own economy. All for nothing, but the ego of madman.
Stryker has a facility here in Waterdown (Hamilton, next to Burlington). Wonder if they were affected.
βYouβre telling me that while I am beating myself up because I forgot to bring my water bottle, all these huge oil companies are pouring billions β¦β
Yes, but they knew this would get headlines & build the Doug Ford: Doing Stuffβ’ brand.
βThe real issue that needs addressing is this governmentβs ongoing refusal to address the chronic underfunding that forces educators to subsidize classrooms out of their own pockets in the first place.β

CivicSearchlight is now available for free for everyone, built by the amazing @rorywh.bsky.social for @nationalobserver.com. It allows you to search municipal meetings across the country with keywords, and is really helpful for understanding how a topic has moved through time and jurisdictions. ββΊοΈβ
Hard to decide whether this offends me more as a journalist or as a citizen, but then I guess I don't need to choose.
Canadian governments hate and fear the public, a continuing series.
I don't like it and certainly not my choice, but it does not mark "the morality and ethics of our fellow citizens as 'bad'," as per the original post.
I believe your opinion is skewed by your experiences online. (It happens to all of us in some way.) Did you see the report from the National Observer that conspiracy theories in Canada were largely the product of just 100 accounts?

Snake eating its own tail.
I mean, who really needs humans anymore now that AI that can **simulate human responses**?! Problem SOLVED!
Honest to gods, it can be hard to get humans to be actually honest in surveys. Why think AI gets us closer to truth?

Seriously WTF were they thinking. Bad idea, even worse response.
This has lawsuit written all over it.
One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.
Yeah, but ternary number system! I just thought some baseball stat heads made it up.
I had no idea there was a name for this.
A middle aged man in a red Blue Jays ballcap and light grey hoodie snuggles with a Black Lab wearing a pink bandanna on the back deck of a house.
Yes, in fact.

I can explain it right now tbh, they don't consider the rest of us human much less American. It's not national suicide, it is a family annihilation perpetuated by people who lied and grifted and stole they way into power and are using it to consolidate resources ahead of the climate catastrophe
Once again noting that Canadian legal precedent is that the Canadian Parliament can remove Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the line of succession to the Canadian Crown via normal legislation *separately and distinct from any UK legislation*. nationalpost.com/news/canada/...
DHS nominee Markwayne Mullin is one of the most active stock-traders in the Senate β and violated the STOCK Act against insider trading as recently as last August.
He currently holds stock in L3Harris, which has millions in contracts with ICE and FEMA.
The grift continues.
Instead of spending $50 billion to bankroll Trumpβs criminal war on Iran, we could:
-Extend ACA subsidies for one year
-Restore SNAP benefits for 2.4 million people
-And ensure Medicaid coverage for nearly 2 million people
Itβs not about what we can afford. Itβs about priorities.
Yeah thatβs not good. There is not much point to a Canadian social platform if they canβt keep non-Canadians out.
It is still in beta and very much not fully baked so will see how it progresses.
I have interest in the localization feed features of Eh! but itβs also WIP.
