We welcomed over 100 visitors who came to see our museum this weekend. The highlight was the guest lecture by Muriel Stiefel, PhD student at the FHNW. She introduced our audience to solar research with the Solar Orbiter space probe and presented brand new research results. Many thanks to Muriel!

Radio astronomy in Switzerland? Of course! Although the telescopes are relatively small, there are instruments like those two antennas in Bleien about 40 minutes from Zurich.

How do you like the Space 1999 series from the 1970s? I have these vintage magazines and comics in my collection. You can also see the iconic Eagle, the famous spacecraft from the series.

Last weekend saw the opening of the Space Eye observatory near Bern, Switzerland. I am very pleased that the prototype of ESA's Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), which was saved from being scrapped by the Swiss Space Museum, is now on permanent display at the Space Eye.

One of the newest artifacts in my collection: an opening divice. Devices like this were used for the removal of protective covers of scientific instruments on early sounding rockets. Built and used in the late 1960s and early 1970s, University of Bern, Switzerland.
