Great to hear that Matt's paper and methods are useful to your exploration of quartzite outcrops! Have any flake scars been identified on outcrops there? Lotter be very excited to know!

#FossilFriday First articulating os coxae, femur, and tibia of a small adult Paranthropus robustus from Swartkrans Member 1, South Africa. This may have belonged to the shortest hominin known (1 m tall). buff.ly/BpbAni9
Photos were kindly provided by Prof. Jason Heaton
The lower limb belonged to a female P. robustus, who stood a meter tall and weighed around 27 kgs. She's the smallest adult hominin known in the fossil record, and was preyed upon by a carnivore before her bones accumulated in the cave system.
Glad to share a new publication presenting a nearly complete lower limb of Paranthropus robustus from Swartkrans Member 1 Hanging Remnant. A ton of hard work from the excavation, preparation and research teams went into this work!
