This is Trump & Miller's signature issue. They ALWAYS meant mass deportation and Miller vowed it'd be biggest infrastructure project ever
He got what he wanted and people fucking hate it
They may not say "mass deportation" but as long as Miller is there, it's what they are doing so keep saying it
Our new searchable database is the most comprehensive public source of financial disclosures across the executive branch.
Here's what we've found using the data so far:
Trump and the Coronavirus I wrote a lot about the coverage of Trumpโs response to the pandemic, and here is what was clear all along: He had no real plan to restore the country to health other than to peddle false hope, predict a quick end, adopt fake deadlines and shift the blame to others. The most urgent need was to test, test, test, and either he didnโt get it or he didnโt want to know the results because they would โlook badโ. The media blew its coverage by letting political reporters lead instead of health and science reporters. Political reporters paid way too much attention to whatever Trump said, such that whatever it was made headlines. They let Trump set the agenda instead of letting knowledgeable people do it. Political reporters also gave Trump way too much credit for trying. They covered up for his incoherence, ignorance, cluelessness, gaslighting, and yes, just plain stupidity. They failed to properly exploit their rare access to him by confronting him with facts and piercing his bubble. They remained complacent in the face of a massive death toll, instead of relentlessly demanding more forceful action.
History repeats itself. Remember how devastatingly incompetent Trump was during Covid? How he had no plan? And how news outlets didnโt call him on it? Let me refresh your memory: presswatchers.org/category/tru...
Jackey Rosen wants Trump to tap the strategic petroleum reserve, to make it easier for Americans to forget about the illegal war, for some reason.
This is the same defect in Democrat Brain that had them calling for a Social Security bonus to help seniors weather tariffs. The โalways be caught caring about kitchen table issuesโ lobe.
No. The point can not be to make the hardship Trump is imposing hard to detect. It must be to end the hardship.
Catch up quickly. Learn some stuff.
Notes: Congress, the House & the Senate, are the only ones that can make a law. The House is the only chamber that can originate a revenue measure.
Congress can override the President.

I have *never* seen Lorenzen pitch this well. #WBC
Can I just say: As weary as you may feel, do not turn away from the degradation and desecrations, the violations and the violence. This is what the lawless Trump regime hopes--that our fatigue will make it easier for them to consolidate their power.
This administration has more clueless fools than any Monty Python movie.
These are built to scale, btw.

Bush on why he quit golf during the war: โI didnโt want some mom whose son may have died to see the commander-in-chief playing golf. I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best I can. And I think playing golf during a war sends the wrong signal.โ

This is the same level of stupidity and ignorance that is currently judging exhibits at the Smithsonian and National Park Service.
Earworm du Jour. I find this one very sticky-- all I need is to see the title somewhere. ๐คฆ๐๐๐๐ป

In 1983, Ruth Schwartz Cowan published a book called More Work for Mother where she argued that modern household tech (washing machines/vacuums) didn't reduce women's housework time, it just raised standards of domesticity. Household work is never shortened by tech & you can extrapolate that out.
Did Americaโs most relentless war busybody share this advice with Donald and Melania?
The problem is not framing.
The core revelation here is that Trump has lost the public *on the mass deportations themselves* and not just on ICE's brutal tactics. We have been arguing this for months but media has simply refused to acknowledge it. Now so obvious that it can't be avoided

The labor of cultural criticism doesn't scale - it takes close reading and the building up of expertise. You know what does scale? Grievance and rage-bait, short hot takes that platforms can monetize as they go viral. Fandom also scales.
Attacking traditional institutions of higher ed while making it easier for for-profit institutions to return to the days of burdening students with debt and not-particularly-valuable degrees. Cool, cool, cool.
Itโs like not a single person surrounding Trump studied one thing about Afghanistan. When a bombing campaign intentionally makes life this miserable for civilians, all it does it make hardline leadership more attractive and become bulletin board material for extremist groups.
Machiavelli noted that it's easy to choose when to start a war, but not when to end it
I've got too much of my ego invested in "nothing can shock me anymore" and then every single day I have to be like OMG WTAF this cant be real
Our politics are fundamentally corrupt. And our economy is rigged against working people because of this corruption.
Leaders of both parties should be calling for Witkoff's immediate resignation after these remarks. He is a Russian patsy, a traitor, and this has just gone for too long. It is has to end.
