You don’t have to overthink every detail right away - just start by making small, intentional choices and build from there. The more aware you are of your decisions, the better your music will fit, and that’s what truly makes a great composer.

Blog TL;DR:

Writing good music isn’t that hard once you know the basics, but what really sets great composers apart is their ability to write music that fits. Every note, instrument, and chord choice should have a purpose that enhances the scene or story.
