A lovely review, and incidentally just a few nights ago at a live event I brought up Verhoeven as a director whose work, specifically Flesh & Blood, has tonal overlap with Between Two Fires.

Shout out to that part of the brain that remembers there’s another sip of something good left in the cup. Clearly some hunter-gatherer instinct that kept us from walking away before we’d finished consuming scarce resources, but still hanging in there and giving us a tiny glad feeling.
