Does Morag have her own water bowl? Yes. Does she also like to hunt down ours. Of course.
There would be no possibility of asserting her dominance elsewise. π

If you're from STEM or healthcare with zero training or experience in social research methods please do ask a colleague who's expert in surveys (for example) to help you understand methods and analysis. This will guide your successful and ethical research - with reliable responses.
Update: your correspondent apologises, I think itβs actually cozzy livvs. No less grating or more needed.
Just heard someone use the phrase costie-livvs. (Iβm guessing the spelling) for cost of living. Havenβt had a shiver like that since platty-jubes.
You preferred human writing. Youβre either sharply attuned to the qualities that make for great writing, or a lucky guesser. Maybe you also noticed that human writing often includes some clunky phrases, like this passage from Cormac McCarthyβs βBlood Meridian,β caused by the authorβs aversion to punctuation: βAs well ask men what they think of stone.β A.I. used to make mistakes like these. But todayβs systems are much more fluid than their predecessors β so fluid, in fact, that finding grammatical errors or nonstandard syntax is often a hint that youβre looking at a humanβs prose, not a machineβs.
I preferred human writing. Iβll wear it as a badge of pride. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
I wonder if thereβs a reason why Iβm now being flooded with electric car adverts?
View of loch Leven
Bike ride around the loch, I think half the shire was out on bikes today. First proper warm day for it. π΄π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
Carib of the department for creating acronyms

Properly instagrammeable breakfast.
Listening to the rest is politics and theyβre talking about collapse in opportunities for graduate entry jobs.
I think we got 500+ applications for the last open entry level Research Officer vacancy. Majority with PhDs.
Really challenging for everyone.
Wheelie bin with St Paul on it
Heβs probably had better days to be fair.
But now, even with google assisting can't find it at all.
Does anyone know it, have the link. I think it has the power to be just a really useful #communications tool. I've seen lots of forward projection stuff, but the #history one was so easy to grasp.
UK #climate folks I'm looking for #help. Someone showed me an app that you could put your postcode into and it would show you where in the UK your climate was 20yrs ago, 40 yrs ago etc. It stayed with me because it showed Kinross climate now as being the same as Oxfordshire when I was a kid there.
I believe that's referred to as a jammie dodger in the teaching trade.
The western canon by Harold bloom
Finished the Western Canon by Harold bloom. Itβs been my commute reading for months. I have such a sense of him as an irascible old grump. Certain we disagree on many things, and also that the writing was so good that it was worth the grumbling.
Any suggestions for good essay collections folks?
Ah the mocha conundrum.
Galileo You do not have to stare into the sun everyday, Itβs brilliance will burn up your sight The dark spots will leave Imprints that will not wash out. We are all drawn to the ever scrolling radiance The candle in our hands that shows us the world Beautiful and terrifying Hypotonic like a stage charlatan. Without light what can we see? We owe the would love Care and attention But do not owe it The windows to our soul. Put down the telescope tonight, love. See the world, the stars, tomorrow, But you can only see them, With your eyes, intact. GB 21st January, 2026
Seems like a good day to remind you not to stare into the sun everyday. #Galileo #poem
Oh that we should live long enough to hear the edgy songs of our youth being turned into the baking tunes cheerful perfume adverts.
Just reported 18 potholes to the council. The website was definitely not designed for batch-reporting. I think they assume no-one will bother, but the last dodgy swerve I had to make on my bike π΄ββοΈjust about finished me.
It should be a one-click app from your phone using the geodata.
Oh my. Perhaps you need cheering up? You can suggest the names for council bin lorries in Sefton. This will work well. Truly the opportunity to vote for rubbish! Iβm suggesting Binacle. www.sefton.gov.uk/mysefton-new...
Old style publication, only as a pdf, much less accessible analysis. www.gov.scot/publications...
RESAS very busy week continues with this year's wildlife crime statistics published today. I think they're much more accessible, better than before RESAS took them over. Really good #stats and #data development. The link to the old style in π§΅in case you want to compare. www.gov.scot/publications...
properly niche.
#Scottish people complaining about kids and 6/7.
I say only ELEVEN.
ELEVEN!
Try Ground Floor.

Ok #RESAS is really churning it out today! New quarterly #statistics release designed to provide a more detailed and timely view of Scottish #milk availability as collected through the Scottish milk survey. www.gov.scot/publications...
Truly one for the #scottish #data nerds. #RESAS agricultural census results published today are split by the 2026 Scottish #parliament #constituency list. I reckon this must be one of the first SG publications to use the new geography. Hats off to the stats team. www.gov.scot/publications...
Nobody puts Shetland in a corner!
Shetland mapping act map
Spotted a Shetland #mapping instruction map in the Kirkwall office today.
This is one of those parts of an Act that I often have to explain to academics in England- no that really is an actual law.
Polar war by Kenneth Rosen book and my toes in very fetching toucan socks.
I realise itβs very much in the news but Polar War by Kenneth Rosen really is as good as they say. Just gives a real sense of a slice of the world Iβve never thought about particularly. Shows why itβs so interesting and current.
Genuinely, completing the National lidar survey will mean so many more of these!
