The ball was in the back of the net. The ref should have been asking VAR to check for the foul rather than given the foul and asking the VAR to overturn.
There is a flaw in the system that the VAR can only overturn a clear and obvious error when any contact is a grey area in soccer
Im sorry if the VAR can't tell the ref to go have another look at that to make sure what is the point? Horrendous decisions being compounded since 2019
