Upside down, by the ankles, and then treat him like a piñata.

there is an extremely funny example I recently came across of a paper on my health condition, with a lengthy comment below from one of the top researchers on it explaining that the researchers who wrote the paper do not seem to have actually studied said health condition.

I've read a lot of things in which researchers misunderstand and misrepresent key concepts, and I don't want to introduce garbage into my work.

that's a weird way to science, because I almost exclusively look for papers written by or cited by certain people whom I know to be experts on a thing. the "who" matters a lot.

It’s easy (more easy than accurate) to dismiss academic critics of generative AI as uninformed or emotive, which is often anyway code for “moralizing.” But it’s remarkable how much gen AI boosterism requires feigning ignorance that theft and impersonation are widely seen as wrong, for good reasons.

I simply refuse to believe there are not fatwas against this (asking an LLM what you can wear for iftar)

a hadith! anything!

Class Action Alleges That Grammarly Misappropriated the Names of Journalists and Authors Through its “Expert Review” That Lets Users Get Feedback on Writing From Experts — PRF Law Lawsuit alleges that Grammarly violated state privacy laws that protect people from having their names and identities used for commercial purposes without their prior consent Contact : Peter Romer...

Lots of folks asking how to join the class. My lawyers' emails and contact-form here. As well as the complaint if you want to take a look.

“Leaders of the Target boycott” dawg there were no leaders. Everyone just came to a consensus to not shop there.

oh, now you're quoting me? am I supposed to be scared of all 59 of your followers coming for me at once?

11.03.2026 23:50 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

also, this is *social* media. everything has an audience! if you want it to be just between the two of you, use DMs.

11.03.2026 23:48 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

unless you write things in a private journal you are writing for an audience, champ. even a love letter has an audience. you don't know that because you don't read.

the erosion of any notion of practice or craft or expertise or learning from other people being necessary and good is destroying the world, and it is light punishment to mock you for it. you deserve much worse.

11.03.2026 23:40 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 1

imagine complaining because an account with more than a thousand followers came to mock you, an account with 59 followers. how do you think I got more than 59 followers? not by saying goofy shit like "writers don't have to read." if you read more, maybe people will follow you, too.

yeah, that's right, delete that. see, when you actually read, you a) have better ideas, and b) learn how to self-edit your goofiest ideas before you say them out loud to an audience of people and get mocked for it. because you develop a sense of quality.

11.03.2026 23:33 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

the person asserting you can be a writer without being a reader is complaining. . . because people actually want to read the things I write, but not the things they write.

11.03.2026 23:27 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

if you are a writer who doesn't read, who exactly are you writing for? what kind of nonsense is this?

"I make music but I don't listen to music" is just a bonkers thing to say.

The president genuinely doesn't know much about most things but the times you can be sure he does, in fact, know about something is when he says "I don't know anything about that."

it is a skill developed out of necessity and it never leaves you
