It's really wonderful listening to the progression.
Also, I would love to see you perform again sometime, if that's something you're still doing.

The fact that you *continue* to be good at music after having been good at music for quite a while is a testament to just how good you are!
One of the actual best synthesizer solos ever recorded. It's so killer.
one thing that should be said about the time we're living in is it is deeply clarifying when you see who is and who isn't doing this kind of stuff right now. for those who are, it is nothing less than extremely cowardly behavior worthy of not just resentment, but complete and total disdain.
i treat anyone who says "well it's all hopeless, guess i just have to profit off the current state of affairs" as actively complicit and you should too.
Support furry musicians and furry music! There's so much amazing, wonderful, and varied stuff out there, and it's a side of furry that has often felt either pushed aside or siloed into 1β2 "big" artists.
Finally for the prog pop and space rock lovers out there, there's What Strange Beasts, with a couple of gorgeous concept albums, the most recent of which is Starlight's Castaways: whatstrangebeasts.bandcamp.com/album/starli...
Hard to pick a fave track, but the closer "Best Friends" comes to mind.
@/trashmodjo.bsky.social is a collaboration between DJ Trashtail and PartyFowl, and they just released their first full-length album, Together: trashmodjo.bandcamp.com/album/together
Bet you didn't think you could dance your heart out so much that you cryβdreams really do come true.
cervines recently released yet another glorious, dark, atmospheric meditation with la belle indiffΓ©rence cervines.bandcamp.com/album/la-bel...
Massive discography (some of which was published and is archived under their former project abyuse, including some gorgeous tracks for the Echo VN).
@/deadposssociety.bsky.social has some driving, complex sample-based stuff, both as albums and standalone tracks. deadposssociety.bandcamp.com/album/trash-...
First, there's @/betapop.bsky.social's Mellowdrome project (formerly Lizard Hands), which released a brand new album today! mellowdrome.bandcamp.com/album/the-me...
I saw him perform live at Furthemore years back and was captivated.
It's Bandcamp Friday, and I'd like to highlight some furry musicians whose work I've absolutely adored!
If you buy their music today, they get the proceeds instead of having to pay a cut to Bandcampβin exchange, you get kickass music *and* you support furry creators! You can't lose!
Mayor: You aren't aiming to smear us to the general public then, are ya? Chase: No. Welcome to historic Echo! You'll be back before you know it! Come visit: Lake Emma, This Water Pump, The Hendricks Mansion Carl: Dude, you're not putting my house in there, are yo-- Chase: No.
Echo School Two Vast And Trunkless Legs Of Stone Chase: I don't like this one.
You'll be back before you know it!
when someone who isn't directly financially benefiting from this wave says "we can't be left behind" i feel like they're revealing their own anxieties and extrapolating those into what everyone else must be experiencing. speak for yourself motherfucker!! that's not an anxiety i have. lol
Also, read The Circle by Dave Eggers if you want a really harrowing and frankly awful example of why attaching all of your real-world personal information to everything you do on the internet is a dystopian hellscape.
Or, you know, "Nosedive" from Black Mirror.
Please make your complaints LOUDLY and IMMEDIATELY known. Discord Support exists, as does the "why did you cancel?" survey for Discord Nitro. You can also email support directly. You can tag their socials.
Please, don't just walk away. For some of us, Discord is the *only* reasonable place.
I'm seeing a massive amount of, "Well, I guess I won't use Discord anymore," posts, and instead of making that decision immediately, I would first encourage everyone to use your words and fight back against this the way we did with itch.io and other services when they implemented restrictions.
Wouldn't you party if you had an owl?
The culprit(s)?
- Soy products
- Running with cushioned shoes
- Not just eating protein constantly
- Not getting as jacked as possible
It's all pseudoscientific masculinity-crisis fearmongering, but enough latched on to the "soy" thing that our current CDC director, among others, is hooked.
There were lots of infographics that euphemistically conflated the size of someone's testes with both quantity of ejaculate and sperm count, *none of which are related*. I remember one used literally a sequential series of sports balls as percentage graphs. Ping-pong vs. basketball AMIRITE FELLAS?!
It was all wrapped up in a ton of things: our "forefathers" (read: hunter-gatherers) were rugged wilderness athletes who ran barefoot, ate massive quantities of meat daily, and had huge testicles which conferred legendary ejaculatory (read: impregnation) power, which they always called "potency".
Per other people's comments, yes, there was a whole hysteria (testeria?) about it for a long while. I recall seeing Men's Health Magazine (which has always been a complete and total rag) back in the mid-'00s lament the "feminizing" effects of soy-based foods on modern men and *insist* on MEAT.
But also, yes, like... just own who you are? It's fine?
The problem was that part of hipsterism at the time was the collective decision that outspoken earnestness was uncool; everything must be couched in irony. Unless there's a change in what it means to be a hipster, being proud to be a hipster is antithetical to hipsterdom.
"Why do you have to think so deeply about things?!"
theonion.com/conservative...
Have you never encountered this? It's a reactionary boogeyman that gets trotted out every so often to scare credulous people. "The left wants to take away your burgers and replace them with insect meat!"
Part of it is that people in the USA just don't know how to cook it, but I guarantee at least a little bit of it is identity-signalling: tofu is woke soy fake food opposed to real manly beef. Same reason there's always that weird hysteria about being forced to secretly eat bugs.
But how can I get ragepost upvotes and attention on the internet if I don't just vaguely gesture and rhetorically ask, "Why aren't Americans doing anything?!"
Pitchfork is putting up a paywall?
Finally, the trash takes itself out.
