Cool, love a bit of brutalist architecture.

Bdrmm twice in 2 days, because great live music is the best.
IRKED and The None being fabulous in Newcastle. Newcastle is cool, we will be back.
The None, so good last night at The Brudenell. Off to North East for a couple of days now looking forward to seeing them again, with Irked in Newcastle.
Du Blonde being fabulous at Yellow Arch last night.
Wow, The Jesus Lizard at the Brudenell was blisteringly good. Only photo is a feedback bass moment. Same energy as 30 years ago.
Day 3 #RockawayBeach. Bloodworm, The Itch and beautiful set by Katy J Pearson. Excellent weekend. Now the drive back to Sheffield due to work tomorrow.
Day 2 #RockawayBeach. Soap Box, The Pill, Meryl Streek, Leftfield and Bodega. Also a session in Bognorβs excellent real ale pub.
Have a good weekend!
Are you drumming for someone? Would not want to miss if so.
Day 1 at #RockawayBeach superb opening by The None, Man Woman Chainsaw, Spritualized and a brilliant set by Arab Strap.
Pleased to have more gigs featuring The None coming up.
Picture of Lou Barlow taken at a gig in Leeds.
Friday top 5: gigs of 2024
1. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Leeds Arena)
2. bdrmm (Hackney Church)
3. Hey Colossus (New River Studios)
4. Personal Trainer (Green Man)
5. Kim Gordon (Milan Alcatraz)
Christmas vinyl : 2 early works from Hey Colossus thanks to @adam0407.bsky.social , John live at the Scala and the Irked EP thanks to @pomfob.bsky.social
Last week now but gig 62 for the year ( where one day at a festival = one gig) was the Bdrmm Christmas gig with Nightbus at the beloved Adelphi. Neglected to photograph the bands so here is the iconic venue.
Pat, pat.
Love it. This is our version.
On a visit to New York our teenage kids developed a theory that mattress shops were basically money laundering. Google search suggests they were possibly onto something. How many mattress shops do people need?
Penultimate gig of the year. Jane Weaver at Hebden Bridge Trades Club. Making good use of the campervan site at the top of the hill again.
Shame, damn viruses. Been meaning to see them since we missed them at Green Man a couple of years ago due to a clash.
Forgot to post Friday nights gig: the unfathomably underrated Stephen Evens at Dorothy Pax. Just over a week after my hip operation the fab promoter found me a chair and @adam0407.bsky.social did the driving.
Caught some of the tape delay episode the other day, very interesting and beautifully presented.
Great to hear there will be another Cupola show.
Agree, do more, buy less.
Sunday night treat: the Folk Implosion at Leeds Lending Room.
Sharing because I love @andycropperart.bsky.social work and we are privileged to have 2 at home.
Tropical Fuck Storm at The Brudenell the other night. Great to finally see a full set after just catching the end at Primavera a few years back and realising how good they are.
A friend couldnβt make the excellent Goat in Nottingham last night so we happily made good use of the tickets. Still donβt love Rock City as a venue though.
Expected to miss the Sheffield Deadletter gig (hence squeezing in Bristol) but plans changed so it was Deadletter and Moderm Woman again at the excellent Crookes Social Club. Good to see the second born in the pit.
