@lousycanuck
Cis bi white guy trying not to be as shitty as social media white guys tend to be. He/him, they/them. Pronouns are a normal part of speech. Politics, wrestling, amateur game dev and Linux reply guy. Trans rights, no kings, no war, no fascists.

As someone who's written a fuckload in my lifetime, I'm MAD the words maker machine is spewing out so many words that people no longer recognize quality. Even if my own words were never truly quality, they at least were EFFORT. And its existence proved the effort. Now words are devalued.
Dr. Seuss' The Lorax told us who these fuckers are when we were kids. Just a bunch of Oncelers.
We have a choice to make.
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
The Mayor's Office wants a more affordable New York for game developers (and everyone else)

Thank you, genuinely, for using a stock image over generative art. The weakest mspaint shitpost has more effort intrinsic in its existence and gets more of my respect.
In wrestling this is an unearned push before a blowout squash match. What concerns me is there is a new booker who thinks rules are for patsies and we're gonna see a screwjob ending.
what does julie t le think she can do - as a freshman congresswoman! - to fix the immigration system's failures that ilhan omar can't do better? all we know about julie is being an ICE lawyer! i see no community backing for her, yet she's in the NY times? CURIOUS!

Protesters gathered outside the ICE detention facility in Burlington, Massachusetts, protesting against ICE cruelty and standing up for the dignity and rights of immigrant communities.
We stand with our fellow #BlueCrew members holding the line...
Drop β and keep sending strength to everyone...
South Burlington, Vermont.
Neighbors, students, and community members are in the streets protesting ICE and sending a clear message: GET ICE OUT NOW.
The #BlueCrew stands with everyone in South Burlington speaking out and refusing to stay silent. Keep showing up, keep raising your voices.
#ICEOut
In South Burlington, Vermont, protesters are being tear-gassed by ICE and local police as they attempt to prevent a kidnapping.
Tony Khan out here bringing Don Callis out for not one, but TWO FUCK ICE chants in California, and then bringing out BRODY KING in CA which you just know is gonna be bringing the heat for ICE and Revolution on our badass wrestling show.
The third time FUCK ICE was chanted on #AEW TV tonight!
This was a bad joke in 1975 and it was a bad joke in 1992 and it's a bad joke now.
NEW: Grammarly got hit with a class-action lawsuit this afternoon over its AI "expert review" feature that uses real experts' likenesses without their consent. @juliaangwin.com is the only named plaintiff. @milesklee.bsky.social has the scoop: www.wired.com/story/gramma...
This has been my autocorrect conspiracy theory for ages
Why is going on!?
Finally, the take.
it really is just increasingly critical for discussion about adult/NSFW material to stop being treated as out-of-sight-out-of-mind
i get that it's things an audience might not be comfortable discussing but now's the time for the work to get them comfortable because things are happening regardless
The Lemkin Institute has issued a *THIRD* trans genocide warning, noting the next stage is widespread containment - and this was before the 4th Circuit ruled today that states can essentially do whatever they want to make trans people "appreciate their sex".

Glad you're safe. You're one of the best people! The tornadoes are being mis-aimed!
So the shoegate I understand it is this:
1. Trump equals shoe size to dick size
2. Trump asks Rubio, Hegseth and the rest of the ilk about their shoe size.
3. They all yell, like 10, 11, big, huge.
4. Trump buys those for them, and they shamble around in shoes twice their size.
Ahahaha they fell for the grift, amazing. All that's on there is crypto schemes by people pretending to be bots!
Thereβs also often a devilβs bargain buried in all this, that you flatter and, yeah, respect these white people who think this country is theirs by throwing other people under the busβby disrespecting immigrants and queer people and feminists and their rights and views. And you reinforce that constituencyβs sense that they matter more than other people when you pander like this, and pretty much all the problems weβve faced over the past four years, to say nothing of the last five hundred, come from this sense of white people being more important than nonwhites, Christians than non-Christians, native-born than immigrant, male than female, straight than queer, cis-gender than trans. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito just complained that βyou canβt say that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Now itβs considered bigotry.β This is a standard complaint of the right: the real victim is the racist who has been called a racist, not the victim of his racism, the real oppression is to be impeded in your freedom to oppress. And of course Alito is disingenuous; you can say that stuff against marriage equality (and he did). Then other people can call you a bigot, because they get to have opinions too, but in his scheme such dissent is intolerable, which is fun coming from a member of the party whose devotees wore βfuck your feelingsβ shirts at its rallies and popularized the term βsnowflake.β
When you call misogyny misogyny, you're allying with the victims of it and maybe rendering the misogynists uncomfortable, and you're also telling the truth. Whose comfort matters? Matters more than truth? The Times and a lot of the mainstream has been telling us conservative white men come first.
Thank you! It was a pleasure to speak my own version of truth to that version of power. And I'd been prepared for questions like that for years.
This interview with the great @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social was a "wow" moment for me. Thanks, New York Times and David Marchese.

I couldn't help noticing the question that seemed the most Times-like to me.
I am tired. I should expect that where they just took eight vials of blood, but it's a deeper kinda tired, you know.

A foreign hacker likely has the Epstein Files.
The best way to prevent blackmail of government officials, such as trump and Howard Lutnick, would be for AG Pam Bondi to stop the cover up and release all the Epstein Files as required by law.
