Bob Layton’s Iron Man always feels thoroughly authentic to me. I catch sight of his work on the character and think, well, yes: that’s just what IM looks like.

Ultimately we ended here. Added the family of monsters (good to remind people who's in the book) & positioned the key antagonists as well. A large glowing crystal signals power. And everything points to majestic, confident heroine.

Here, Brian really comes at us with some kinetic energy. Exciting stuff is happening. Violent creatures crashing in. Crystals pulsing with energy. Character's eyes alive with power... and that bracelet again. Hmm, this one's not bad. Maybe we should've gone with this...

Second concept definitely sells the outer space angle, but it's not clear to potential readers what Nori is doing. Although that bracelet must be important, right? Would've been beautiful, but still too vague. There's no hook.
