Our collisionless shocks session at #EGU25 drew a great crowd, sparked insightful discussions and set the stage for new #heliophysics collaborations. Thanks to everyone that attended!
βοΈ Parker Solar Probe sent a beacon home to confirm that it successfully survived the historic flyby (closest approach to the Sun!), so it's now safe to share this π

Additionally, I also had a nice time seeing my academic great-grandfather Roald Sagdeev, my academic mentor Volodya, and friends, colleagues and former mentors, Jens, Jasmina, Misha Balikhin - all in the same place at AGU!
Also, so nice to see @erikapal.bsky.social after nearly 6 years!!
What a trip! I visited some long term collaborators and made new collaborations in my recent trip to the US! I gave 6 talks over a period of three weeks.
A special thanks to Athanasios, Lynn and everyone at APL who I canβt seem to find on here.
We are inviting applications for a Science Programme Manager as of April 1, 2025.

The AAS Journal Author Series connects authors with their article, their human story, and the larger #astronomy community. #ExploreAstronomy π
Recently, I sat down with Frank Timmes from AAS publishing to discuss our recent work on detecting synchrotron radiation from interplanetary shocks!

And ofcourse, It was an honour to speak in the legendary Philip's auditorium in the CfA!
I had an absolutely great time working on this, and for those who want to have a look at the full peer-reviewed papers:

Interested in shock waves? I recently gave a talk in the famous Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics about how we can use NASA's Parker Solar Probe observations of heliospheric travelling shocks to study astrophysical shocks.
