I filed the Texas DMV vehicle transfer notification the day of sale, and so far all organizations have accepted it when I present it... But it's been such an annoyance to deal with and I'm still worried something is going to show up on my credit report in the future.
I sold my old Prius C in a private party sale back at the end of August and I naively didn't retain the license plate and since about November I've been getting parking tickets and toll invoices for San Francisco and the Bay Area.
