I'm about to do a trial run of the design class I was working on. If you're interested in learning creature design methodology in exchange for providing me with feedback and evaluations then here's a form to fill out π

A, I see! I should probably have picked up on that from context hahaha.
In that case it's a bit complicated. This was originally intended to be a project of it's own, but in the ed I didn't have the time. So for now it'll probably be as a few pages in a book I'm drafting instead=]
thank you! I don't know of that project, but I would consider my work to fall under fantasy =]
Digital illustration of an alien creature posed as a bear, but morphologically more similar to a starfish. Textbox underneath the illustration reads: "While very alien to the prospectors the curiosity and playfulness of these creatures was more like small bears. They can be found all over garden, but this variation is found in the outer layers and can be seen gnawing on tree roots and rocks."
A scale comparison of alien creatures. From top left: a Forest Squid with a large number of tentacles with tips of sharp hooks. A juvenile version of Kale Whale, a quadruped with a body not unlike a lettuce leaf. A bearlike starfish currently named just Some Bear. An adult form of the Kale Whale.
A bear and some other creatures. Comparative scales and the numbers put for measurement aren't quite done yet (I just find it easier to put it on the page so I can correct it later)
I'll make another post but reminder that I'm looking for work! I did pretty okay last year, but didn't really feel like it because a bunch of gigs paid late/barely on time which had a real knock-on effect, and this year's been very slow
Digital illustration of a yellow goblin, wearing dungarees and carrying a fishing bat.
A goblin =]
Two by five thumbnail sketches of fictive fishermen. Proportions are stylized, and the sketches explore different options of clothing, gear and builds.
I'm gonna try my best to not only post creatures, but the paradox is that since people expect me to always draw creatures I end up using what time I have to draw creatures! But that said here are some fishermen (but not just men)
#characterdesign
hey so this is more of an emergency post than it is a regular commission call out. I am very short of money this month and my finances arenβt gonna balance out until the end of feb. if you can spare it, I would be deeply grateful if you want to commission me or buy my digital zine linktr.ee/ordheist
still having a tough time with cash this month, so Iβm boosting these card comms! DM me if youβre interested in one
I guess I literally spaced out on the #portfolioday tag
Illustration of a misty landscape of floating blocks and long legged spider-like monsters.
Drawing of a woman holding onto a spear and riding a fantasy creature that's something between a crocodile and a dog
Drawing of a creepy alien creature and a human explorer.
Drawing of a mushroom inspired character, specifically an inkcap mushroom. The character is equipped with bow and arrow.
Hi #portfolio day!
I'm mostly a world building artist with a focus on creatures, characters and their environments. (I'd really like to de-specialise a bit though, I crave variation)
I'm currently actively looking for work to fill my schedule so please message if interested! Thanks =]
Drawing of a humanoid snake with a parasol being carried by smaller snake people.
Boss and minions, drawing challenge in a discord. Another participant designed a minion, and based on that I designed their boss =] It's one of my recent drawings I've had tho most fun with. Alongside commissions that is; I think it's because they push me out of my comfort zone a bit.
Illustration of a young minotaur cleric in blue cloak and carrying a staff and spirit jar.
Thank you and I do! I just recently got an account here and I have an immense backlog to pick and chose from =] Let's see if I ever catch up!
hahaha I avoid doing that! I do worldbuilding as part of my profession. What I realised is that regular people around where I am now don't really understand what worldbuilding is, fundamentally. They seem to think all these years I've just sat down to draw aimlessly kinda...
that's kinda cool. But would rot rangers in this be the ones who take away, or are they defending the rot and decay process?
Digital illustrations of a humanoid alien, slightly moth like. Two legs and two pairs of arms. Bright fuzz frames the face. The smaller drawing shows a side view of him walking.
Digital illustration of a creature that is somewhere halfway between a worm and a crab. It's being summoned from a pool of strange paint inside a ritual circle.
Commissions I completed around the end of November last year. I'm currently trying to fill out my commission slots for the weeks to come, in case there's interest here =]
That would be me, I live there! (Kinda)
Digital drawing of a cozy room with a large triangular window and roof beams. Room is lettered with plants, books and pencils.
I drew something different and I really enjoyed it
well I mean, that's a 50-50, he might just have been guessing
I think the third dimension is just a temporary trend anyhow
An art versus artist collage
#artvsartist24 because if I don't post this right away I won't ever post (as per usual) =]
Will each guitarist get a guitar or will they have to solve it sibling-style?
Digital illustration of a selkie (big figure) and two sketches of her and her seal (smaller figures).
A selkie. I made the sketches in january and then this drawing later in the spring. I wanted to do more fantasy this year (that was my new years resolution) but ended up having a way too eventful year to work on a fantasy portfolio... Or maybe I would have broken that resolution anyhow =]
I like that they specifically have a name for a kind of algae!
thanks =]
Worm, a commission. I liked doing the colorful liquid thing =]
photo of a copy of my comic Second Spine. The cover shows an ominous silhouette, x-rayed to depict two spines, towers behind a grumpy emperor and her two nervous guards.
photo of a sprawl of my colourful fantasy prints, each accompanied by a haiku.
closing shop for a while from tomorrow until mid-Jan, so if you want any prints/Second Spines geddem now
(shitty photo of prints. It gets dark at like 3pm)

I feel more and more like teaching drawing again (probably because I enjoy drawing boxes).
Hello =] Yes and mastodon I believe!
But also it made me realise that maybe us concept artist do a bad job of communicating just how much thought we give to design and worldbuilding. If people think that all we do is draw and draw well maybe it's no wonder they also think we can be replaced by neural networks...
