It's important to talk about #humanrights as they affect all of us.
But most important in any debate on reform or #ECHR withdrawal is to have the evidence first.
Out today: a report examining the evidence for 10 reasons to stay in the ECHR from Oxford University's Bonavero Institute.

"My only fault"
There are many important recommendations in the HoL report, not least of which is not to be complacent about the strength of the rule of law in the UK.
Have a listen to the show, and do read.
Today, the #HouseofLords published its awaited report examining the state and quality of the #RuleOfLaw in the UK.
The report highlights with concern the weakening of this foundational value, and calls on Government and politicians to take stronger action to defend it.
This week on #TheLawShow, we talked Law Under Fire with Mark Evans, President of the #LawSocietyofEngland&Wales, and Charlie Sherrard KC - asking whether increasing political attacks on lawyers and the judiciary for doing their jobs could undermine the rule of law and democracy in the UK.
Also in the show - laws around one of the most regulated groups in the country: subject to banning orders without conviction, surveillance and restrictions on their freedom of movement [can you guess who?] - football fans!
#TheLawShow is back on #BBCRadio4 today @ 3pm, and after on #BBCSounds, discussing the court delay crisis and the human cost to victims and defendants awaiting their day in court.

"Does taking the UK out of the ECHR breach the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement?"
Yes.
"But what if..."
No. It breaches the Agreement.
"Ok, but..."
No. Unless your position is "renegotiate with Ireland and conclude a new Agreement including NI parties", it is a breach.
In jumping off the precipice of ECHR withdrawal, the Conservative Party is aping - and legitimising - a policy which in the rest of Europe is only espoused by the far right verfassungsblog.de/badge-of-dis...
All of these institutions, by the way, supported by ECHR rights providing for fair treatment.
Following ECHR debate, imagine if "reform is hard, so just remove it without replacing it with anything else" was policy applied to other foundational parts of the state, governance and law - like the NHS, the police or education?
