Another effort to keep the National Center for Atmospheric Research intact!
Fantastic idea @agu.org to #SaveNCAR
Beautiful cover of BAMS! @ametsoc.org @agu.org @agucryo.bsky.social @drshepherd2013.bsky.social @andrewpault.bsky.social @biometlab.bsky.social
As an educator, I guide students to attend workshops and meetings at NCAR to get training in Earth sciences. Dismantling of NCAR will impact students and early-career scientistsβthe future STEM workforce. We must preserve NCAR. @ncar-ucar.bsky.social @agu.org www.nsf.gov/news/intent-...
Here are news about environmental changes in the Arctic headlines.ametsoc.org/2025/12/01/e... @ametsoc.org @andrewpault.bsky.social @agucryo.bsky.social @eliebz.bsky.social
Congratulations @biometlab.bsky.social on a nice recount! It is good to do this type of articles for many reasons, including history!
A good Nature article to read by those who follow climate science news and literature -and general public as well. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
CA Gov himself reporting news he climbed the 325-meter tower(ATTO) in the middle of the Amazon rainforest! Note the Gov said the 'data is shared with Americans', which is part of FluxNet efforts? @ameriflux.bsky.social @fluxnet.bsky.social @biometlab.bsky.social @fluxnetecn.bsky.social
California Gov climbed the 325-meter tower in the middle of the Amazon! www.threads.com/@cagovernor/... Me? I only reached 100 meters when I visited the tall tower in June 2023! CA Gov has a promising message to climate scientists! @paulstoy.bsky.social @biometlab.bsky.social @profdesai.bsky.social
To Arctic explorers out there!,this article journals.ametsoc.org/view/journal... just got published in BAMS! It provides highlight of CHACHA project! @biometlab.bsky.social @paulstoy.bsky.social @eliebz.bsky.social @profdesai.bsky.social @andrewpault.bsky.social @ametsoc.org
Very glad to learn AMS will have a conference session in memory of uber colleague and friend Jenni Evans! @knubez.bsky.social @eliebz.bsky.social @biometlab.bsky.social @profdesai.bsky.social

Congratulations @riikkarinnan.bsky.social ! Wishing you great success!
Save data provided by NASA's Earth Science Division, as outlined by a letter in Science magazine www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... @biometlab.bsky.social @paulstoy.bsky.social @dbm.bsky.social @agu.org @ametsoc.org
Congratulations @anntelnaes.bsky.social from a reader of your work! Keep up the phenomenal work as we need it now more than ever! From a former subscriber of WAPO!
As a former JGR:Atmospheres Editor I fully support AGU's statement that science must stay independent and inclusive. @agu.org
Very sad indeed. Where are the serious people to stop these beyond crazy decisions?
@cmacquar.bsky.social I would not say 'we [Canadian scientists]' will get you there'. Having worked in Canada and USA, my experience is that both groups are about the caliber, e.g., Canada has had its share of Nobel Laureates! Funding for science is less in Canada for sure.
It is extraordinary that @schumer.senate.gov is thinking about a book tour while government agencies are being closed and workers are fired. Politicians like him dismiss concerns we have. @sanders.senate.gov & @aoc.bsky.social are explaining challenges we face. www.themarisreview.com/the-maris-re...
@katharinehayhoe.com:
Oh no! It is sad to learn the passing of colleagues.
It appears the chosen categories are broad. You and Mike Mann are in the same category: Environmental Sciences. It is still impressive your work has world-wide impacts!
Congratulations to @katharinehayhoe.com and @michaelemann.bsky.social for being selected as part of the '100 Most Influential Professors in the World 2025' ! www.thetechedvocate.org/the-100-most... Very proud of your richly deserved recognition!
The scientific community, not only in the USA but worldwide, will lose an iconic environmental observatory! No one, but no one, could possibly benefit from the dismantling of such a unique observatory.
Schumer is definitely not a leader. Now more than ever we need principled leaders. Letβs find some one who can primary him? @aoc.bsky.social ?
How come US Senate Minority Leader is ignoring the overwhelming vote by democrats in the House of Representatives? It is time by @aoc.bsky.social to primary Chuck ππΏ
Ineffective leaders need to step down as they no longer represent the interests of most people. Maybe @aoc.bsky.social needs to primary Chuck!
