The lovely thing about traveling with just a backpack means that we don't have to fuss with things when getting around. The down side is that when I find a really, really cute set of plates, there's no way to bring them home.

My old house had metal screen door that I kept locked all summer. Door-to-door salesmen would shout at me through it, visible but ignored. The entitlement - that my attention is somehow owed to anyone- still infuriates me. I rather like being able to easily ignore people here.

I love the concept of this garden. The community hangout spot where we spent a lot of time when we were in Tbilisi had a lovely garden, and one of my favorite things was to help weed and prune with the owner. (and drink wine. there may have been lots of wine.)
