A bit of a delayed celebration, but happy that our three submitted papers were accepted at @iclr-conf.bsky.social 2026! This was a... complicated year for ICLR, but hopefully now we can focus on the science.

Congratulations Marvin!
Would you present your next NeurIPS paper in Europe instead of traveling to San Diego (US) if this was an option? SΓΈren Hauberg (DTU) and I would love to hear the answer through this poll: (1/6)
1/ Introducing ACE (Amortized Conditioning Engine)! Our new AISTATS 2025 paper presents a transformer framework that unifies tasks from image completion to BayesOpt & simulator-based inference under *one* probabilistic conditioning approach. It's Bayes all the way down!
π Excited to announce the launch of a pilot trial for the Journal-to-Conference track at #AISTATS2025, coordinated by @pierrealquier.bsky.social and me
The track considers published papers from AoS, Biometrika, JASA, JMLR & JRSS B for a poster presentation at AISTATS 2025

Deadline: 15 March 2025
I had the honor to meet with Professor Shun-Ichi Amari, a pioneer in neural networks, at the University of Tokyo. Back then he worked on early neural nets using pen and paper, before running computing experiments in the future. He talked not only about AI, but also human evolution and consciousness.
Helsinki Probabilistic Machine Learning Lab
1/ π We launched the *Helsinki Probabilistic Machine Learning Lab*, which combines multiple research groups at @univhelsinkics.bsky.social - and part of FCAI and ELLIS - working on, guess what, Probabilistic ML and AI.
And we are hiring! Please repost!
Website: www.helsinki.fi/probabilisti...
1/π―I am hiring! Postdoc position in Probabilistic Machine Learning and Amortized Inference.
@univhelsinkics.bsky.social with strong links to the Finnish Center for AI (FCAI)
Please see blurb and link in thread below.
Applications evaluated on a rolling basis. Please reshare!
π’ ICML Call for Papers is out
The CfP is live here: icml.cc/Conferences/..., and we also just released a blog post summarizing major updates this year: medium.com/@icml2025pc/...
1/ Did they fool you into thinking that variational inference is just "the lesser way" of doing Bayesian inference? Please let me argue otherwise.
lacerbi.github.io/blog/2024/vi...
Or just come to play with the interactive variational inference widget that took me way too long to code up.
