Some time ago I sneaked inside the abandoned whaling station at Cangas de Morrazo. This was more or less where in 1980 Galicia's and Spain's whaling industry ended. Factory is in a right mess. It would make a great site for a museum to the history of that evocative, cruel and sorry business.

Puffins from the Shiant Isles are having a tough winter of it with an almost unprecedented 'wreck' on European coasts.
Group of gulls and Terns on wooden posts. They all have white underparts and grey wings, and varying arounds of black on their heads. One Tern is a vagrant Foster's Tern and had a black eyemask and some dark streaking on its otherwise white head. It had orange legs which stands out from the nearby black legged Sandwich Terns, and a black bill that is conical.
Same group of birds but the Forster's Tern has turned around to show pale grey upper parts and even paler primaries.
Train arriving at a platform. There are benches on each side of the flatform. The train is mostly grey and dark blue. It is a small station with a bridge linking the 3 platforms. It is overcast. The information board for the platform with train says "Weymouth and..."

Our view is over the top, so we don't see the water falling, just spilling over the edge. To the left we see some large, blurry, orange rocks, and some blurry water that looks like it is moving or has some foam on top. The bird is standing right at the edge, facing toward the right, with one leg lifted like it is stepping forward. The head, beack, neck, back, and tail are dark gray. There is some white above the beak and above the eye. The underside of the bird is white. The legs are dark.
