Wow, even Trump hates ICE these days.
Oh to be a little Tardigrade walking across a microscope slide. ๐ซง๐ป๐งช
"We will keep pushing, keep pressing, keep advancing" is almost catastrophically boring. When you combine writing like this with his orders not to give any quarter, then you get a speech that will only ever be quoted in a courtroom.
Those little girls didn't stand a chance!

I love a take like this, because either (a) this person is bullshitting and even they know it or (b) they're shorting oil futures and they're about to lose their shirt.

It seems like Russia is heavily incentivized to directly help Iran. It pushes up oil prices, and they're a petrostate. And it bleeds America disproportionately, the same way we do to them in Ukraine.
when youโre arguing about politics here on bluesky just remember thereโs a young sheldon spinoff called george and mandyโs first marriage thatโs watched by millions of people

you see we didnt hit iran. iran slipped and fell in the kitchen and thats why iran has a black eye. if iran would just stop being clumsy we wouldnt have to get so mad at them. if iran would just use its brain we wouldnt have to yell at iran...
The problem with this defense of the attack on the school is that it was the first day of the war and Iran hadn't fired anything yet.
In his "autobiography" (more a loosely edited diary), John Adams on Sep 9, 1776 noted without commentโin one sentenceโthat Congress had officially adopted the name "United States."
He then spent over 500 words recounting an argument w/ Ben Franklin about whether to close bedroom windows at night.
A lot of people are making fun of this, but it's literally true. He is trying to TACO, and everyone else recognizes that this is absurd.
The question is just whether or not he will be able to successfully withdraw without it looking like defeat.
I don't think you have to Nostradamus to figure that bombing Iran might raise oil prices. And it seems pretty obvious that buying oil in advance of causing an oil price spike might just save Americans a lot of money. But...
...maybe there wasn't much planning?
can't help but notice whose losses are expressed in dollars and whose losses are expressed in lives

I think I can see what Griffith was going for, but some of the choices he made really detract from the more nuanced ideas he wanted to put across (why do the black characters speak like that?) 031 04 TheCybersmith @thecybersmith.bsky.social โข Joined May '23 THAT'S NOT A TRIAL! Folks I am begging you to NEVER, EVER change your forecast for the economy based on one payrolls print. The data are too volatile, too dramatically revised, and only part of a broader mosaic of data. Hell, payrolls are only half the monthly report.

NEW: Trump appointees in the State Dept. failed to urge Americans to leave the Middle East even though the US & Israel had been planning their war for weeks. Talking about AI these days is difficult, because motivated reasoning is so strong.
There are people who hate AI as an idea, its current effects, and its projected effects. They tend to insist it's useless & can never be useful.
And there's people who love it, who insist it can never be dangerous.
Me, dumb and politically correct: Firing on unarmed ships or double-tap military strikes on schools are bad things.
Trump and the conservative media ecosystem have done a ton of work to recast the Biden years as a Hoover/Carter disaster that Trump rescued us from. I do think that gets harder every month

Asked if Americans should worry about Iran retaliating against Americans on U.S. soil, President Donald Trump responded, โI guess.โ
