Off to Nord Sjælland with the Miller lab @tcr-miller.bsky.social for our joint retreat! Exciting brainstorming, bonding, and a little hygge ahead.
First challenge: design your next @natureportfolio.nature.com article π
This one is a bit of a departure from the usual and definitely a work in progress!
We found that by using ab initio reconstruction at very high res, in very small steps, we could crack some small structures that had eluded us - e.g. 39kDa iPKAc (EMPIAR-10252), below.

Delighted to share our lab's first preprint identifying DDIAS as a mitotic DNA repair protein. Great collaboration with the @andrewblackford.bsky.social, @tcr-miller.bsky.social and @profstewartlab.bsky.social labs, and many more. Read the paper here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
New work from the lab! π¬
We report that DDIAS is a new component of the mitotic CIP2A-TOPBP1 pathway of genome maintenance. 1/n

Excited to share our labβs latest preprint! We identify DDIAS as a novel single-stranded DNA-binding component of the TOPBP1βCIP2A complex, which acts in a mitotic DNA damage response pathway to protect chromosome integrity. Short summary below, and read it here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Check out this new review (with animations, natch) of mechanisms of licensing origins of DNA replication - a wonderful (and continuing!) collaboration with Bruce Stillman @cshlnews.bsky.social and John Diffley @crick.ac.uk! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Weβre #hiring, please share! A fully funded #postdoc position is available in my lab to work on DNA damage response mechanisms.
Please get in touch with your CV if you are interested; closing date: 27th June 2025.

Happy to close 2024 with my last first-author publication from PhD thesis: "DNA replication in primary hepatocytes without the six-subunit #ORC" in @elife.bsky.social. This study challenges existing paradigms in #DNAreplication. π§΅(1/4)

Faster and more accurate protein modeling with CryFold. By focusing on nearby points (Local Attention) and employing map masking, CryFold excels in generating models from challenging maps regions. It enables a more cost-efficient model building. π§΅
