Original NES console connected to Sony PVM CRT TV with Mega Man 2 title on screen.
I don't reach for the NES that often, but it's the console of the week.

There's a category of toxic person who'll try and drown out people by trying to bend "evidence" to fit their agenda, and I don't know why it isn't clear to more people that this + rampant transphobia and hatred is what's happening here.
I'm pretty glad they stayed there honestly, bad enough seeing articles in passing.

Modders continue to do what Nintendon't www.gamesradar.com/hardware/ret...
Please read the article before saying "but what about the PS2". It's in there, and the "other older consoles" is, y'know, older than PS5. If you've got time to comment, you've got time to read.
Careful now, *certain people* will start shouting if you dare compare Helix to a PC.
Morrigan and Lilith, two characters from Capcomβs fighting game series, Darkstalkers. Theyβre both ladies with bat wings affixed to their temples and back. Theyβre floating amid a cloud of bats.

It's in the article.
Original PS1 console next to OSSC upscaler with Sir Dan MediEvil figure on top.
Reports of PS5 game surge pricing emerged over the weekend, and if Sony thinks I won't tell everyone to go back to the PS1 and other older consoles, then it has no idea how petty I am.

When any of you read my daft wee retro things, it means the world. I'm never going to be the kind of person who thinks they're the bee's knees or even deserves a job in games, but people reading the stuff gets me out of bed.
NES connected to Sony PVM CRT with Switch 2 on top and both running Super Mario Bros 2.
Some more retro nonsense to kick off your Monday. This time, I'm highlighting a great video by @mattkc.com that covers the NES and the fact there isn't really a consensus when it comes to how the console's visuals and colours should look.

Remember - you can only call it "Lucozade" if it was made in the Lucozade region of France
Close up of OG Crystal Xbox console jewel.
Call me if the next gen Xbox brings back the jewel.
Still like how I drew a Black Mage w me hair a few months back. I should give her a drinking buddy one of these months π»

Big Truxton fan, but I'm woeful at it.
This is how to get my attention btw.
Close up of Sonic 2 for Sega Mega Drive gameplay on a SONY PVM CRT with Dr Eggman in the Egg Drillster heading towards jumping Tails.
I feel like billionaires have already reached "Eggman trying to kill animals in a drill car" levels of weirdness.
past generation* obviously
In a world where you could just not make things for people and switch to creating AI data centres to make falsified profits in the billions, having to entice people to buy is an inconvenience. Why not just make them appreciate when prices are "normal" instead.
I've never been more convinced we're entering the scrapheap challenge age of gaming. The only way to deal with post-capitalist corporations pulling stunts is to withdraw, play on the hardware we already have, and play games they can't gouge us on or decide to take away.
This has been my mentality for years now, they have no idea how petty I can be without them trying to swindle me.
If Sony and the other big dogs of the industry implement surge pricing, I'll spend the rest of my life using post-generation consoles.
Knew this would be @dkbailey64.bsky.social from the header image alone.
I was feeling myself eight days ago. Today, I feel like a purposeless blob.
I mean even on a ick SEO level, why is it doubling keywords?
I'll sound mentally ill saying this (I am) but this has given me the will to exist today.
Opened my eyes this morning and was vaguely disappointed.
Super Nintendo Famicom (SNES) with Super Wild Card floppy drive add-on inserted.
Some words regarding the Nintendo PlayStation prototype revealed the other day. I'm not surprised that it looks like the Super Wild Card SNES floppy drive that would have been used for piracy, the similarities are pretty amusing.
