Two white nationalists I exposed in a recent article showed up to try to intimidate me in person last night.

This is a press freedom issue.

Here’s what happened:

I will say this, in the deepest dark of winter I at least get to go home in light as opposed to dark before work and dark after. I get that morning people hate it. But that’s what they get for being morning people.

You wonder why this innovation would spread clear across Asia and then be utterly abandoned as the dispersal continued north and south east. I can’t help seeing a massive interpretive leap here. There seems to be a growing list of small sharp things that are being over interpreted.

Anyone get video of the meteor over Vancouver? Everyone’s talking about the boom.

North America, Europe, and Israel also share responsibility for generations of instability in the Middle East. We also have seen that warring will not solve instability or improve human rights.

Hire and artist and talk to them. Lots wrong with this but the most evil being the β€œhumans are white and other phenotypes are not” bit. I guess AI just mines this shit out out of our garbage… but still.

🏺 Since it’s Pokemon Day, it’s probably a good time to repost links to the various times I’ve decided that actually what the world needs most is an archaeologist talking about those dang pocket monsters. ⬇️

I do question the seemingly growing archaeological bias of trying to answer this question by size alone as the deciding design variable. Not knowing the cultural knowledge system for why a bone point was designed makes using a non-cultural metric to interpret it fraught.

Spend a little time learning how monumentally broken our heritage protection frameworks are. Thank you @tessmachling.bsky.social for doing the hard work our sector organisations should be leading on. 🏺

This piece is a lot, but it's vital.
And it resonates with Carole's own article underlining foundational role of patriarchy & misogyny:

"A culture which reveres female youth and innocence despises female age and experience. It disgusts them, scares them..."

Literally. When I went to the University clinic suspecting I was in perimenopause, the doctor got angry at me because she decided I must have a mood disorder instead. Turns out I was in perimenopause.

Search | Heritage GuideHeritage Guide Search thousands of Canadian heritage sites.

Fantastic news! It appears that an individual has used a program to download the data from the historic places register and created a new site with it! If all the data is accurate, this will become a valuable site for researchers across the country.

The artwork that illustrated our PNAS paper on the oldest wooden tools was made by Gleiver Prieto, who has also worked with me on illustrations for previous projects, including the paleoenvironmental reconstruction of Marathousa 1.
