On Saturday, six of our young writers attended AWP here in Baltimore. Thank you to @awpwriter.org for offering free admission for high school students! They loved every minute of their first AWP experience.

writers IN BALTIMORE SCHOOLS Support Baltimore's young writers today! We hope you'll join us at the Baltimore Book Festival this weekend for two events on the Red Emma's 32nd Street Stage! On Saturday, September 13 at 1 PM, join us for "We Are Not Numbers," as journalist Pam Bailey and poet Zeina Azzam present an anthology of writing by Gaza's youth. WBS writers will read pieces from the anthology. On Sunday, September 14 at 1 PM, join us in launching OFF THE HINGES: SWINGS THAT NEVER STOP, an anthology of work by 4th - 8th grade Writing Club members, produced by our YouthWorks interns. Young writers will read their stories and poems, and our YouthWorks interns will host a conversation about the anthology. We hope to see you this weekend at the Baltimore Book Festival!
