Nero can see that the Felyne wants revenge and to get stronger the same way he did, and from the card pack 'Adventures of a Tiny Hero' onwards, Nero and Felyne become friends and partners in the story. Felyne's role as Nero's sidekick is also meant to evoke the function Palicoes serve in the Monster Hunter series, being allies to your hunter while on missions.

Finally finished Resident Evil 7. It's funny how it becomes blatantly more like an actual Resident Evil game by the end. I liked it more when I thought the plot was a simple redneck horror thing but amazing game overall. Shit was terrifying. Might be a 10/10 horror game.
