A very long, comprehensive, life affirming and very entertaining Q&A withe Joshua Idehen and Ludwig. Then a short four song set. Lower Third, Denmark Street London.
Out tonight for a Rough Trade Outstore at the Lower Third Denmark Street with Joshua Idehen.
At Resident records Brighton for the Slag "Losing" ep launch. Last time I saw them was back in August last year at Psych Fest.
Final number, "I'm Free" Oral Habit, The Prince Albert, Brighton, 5th March 2026 youtu.be/DNqB5ZMX8eI
Oral Habit are a Brighton-based three piece band that are stunningly good live. I can't think of any band that sounds remotely like them. If you need a reference think of a mix up of prog rock and the Byrds on speed. Looking forward to their first album in June.
Hot Face are a London band who's debut album "Automated Response" has been on repeat ever since it came out at the end of January. Couldn't wait to see them live. And wow they were good. Three minute old school punk.
Out tonight at the Prince Albert Brighton to see Oral Habit supported by Hot Face. Been looking forward to this for weeks.
Ten seasons of Blake's Seven!!!! That would be scary. The sets wouldn't last much past the fourth season.
RIP Rob Grant co-creator of "Red Dwarf" www.comedy.co.uk/people/news/...
Factory was high on its own supply in those days. "Recorded in Sheffield, SΓ£o Paulo, London, and in Chicago." I seem to remember Carroll lived in Brazil? Did they record in Brazil to get that authentic samba sound or was it because it was local?
A class album. It should have been a lot bigger than it was. I think Factory did their normal crap practically non-existent marketing for it.
Out tonight to the Rossi Bar in Brighton to see Keeley supported by Chey Taylor. Looking forward to this as I've been playing Keeley's new album "Girl on the edge of the World" all week. It's one of the best albums you'll hear this year.
Coach Party, Caramel tour at Patterns, Brighton, 20th Feb 2026
youtu.be/VvqRBgoWnlA
Headliners were Coach Party who were on top form. Best I've ever seen them, great atmosphere, an hour on stage and 17 tracks. What more do you want?
Missed the first support High Drive as they were on at 7.15!!! Second support was Lizzie Esau who I've been trying to see for a long time and she didn't disappoint.
Out Tonight to see Coach Party supported by Highdrive and Lizzie Esau at Patterns Brighton
Private Eye accurately predicts the future with this fortnight's cover.

"They are gutting a body of water" aka TAGABOW at Daltons, Brighton, 15th Feb 2026 youtu.be/3BTJXbOuKsQ
A mesmerising 50 minute set from "They are gutting a body of water" to a capacity crowd at Daltons, Brighton
Out tonight to Daltons Brighton to see Philly shoegazers "They are gutting a body of water" aka TAGABOW supported by Brighton emo band Hollowpoint.
First up is Hollowpoint.
Headliners at the Hope & Ruin were The Roebucks promoting their third Goo single "He's my man". And they're back on top form. youtu.be/dwgjMmgTckY
First up were Telecom who have a very '60s sound that harks back to the Beatles and the Monkees. They even have a Mellotron keyboard and a Vox Phantom to get the full '60s sound
Out tonight to see the Roebucks and Telecom at the Hope & Ruin Brighton. This will be the 13th time I've seen The Roebucks and just the second for Telecom.
So sad to hear of the passing of Andrew βThe Clobberβ Ranken. He was a terrific drummer who was absolutely integral to The Pogues raw, unconfined sound - his snare at the start of Sally MacLennane illustrating the point.
Thinking of his friends and family.
#RIPAndrew #ThePogues
They were fun. They deserve to get to number one this week.
The Molotovs at Kingston College for the launch of their first album "Wasted on Youth" youtu.be/J5Kf2LaDC5A
Headliners tonight are the Molotovs. If I was 18 that would have been the greatest gig ever, I'm considerably older than 18 but it's still one of the best gigs I've ever been to. One hour, at least 18 songs and a lot of jumping around.
Out tonight to Kingston College to see The Molotovs supported by Emerson for a Banquet Records out store. First up are mod(Ish) inspired band Emerson who play an 8 song set of original material and a cover of Taxman and a Town Called Malice
