Did the #RoyalNavy tap #Soviet undersea comms cables during the #coldwar?
Listen to an officer on HMS Valiant allude to this. It's here around the 32 min mark. coldwarconversations.com/episode388/
We've come up with a war so stupid that a dead eyed national security pragmatist might hate it even more than the pacifist, because the former understands better how historically idiotic it is in every detail that the latter doesn't pay attention to.

The SAVE America Act is a voter suppression scam. It would take away the rights of working people to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
The Senate must reject this bill.

I feel like it should be more widely unpopular that in the past year we’ve witnessed the creation of an American Stasi required to meet arrest quotas who utilize an AI technology created by a company run by a sweaty raisin of a billionaire who thinks Greta Thunberg is the antichrist.

AND you’re going just in time. The Long Library at Trinity is closing in September for a 10-year restoration project.
Viator.com is a great way to book tours like day trips outside of Dublin. I used it when we went to Edinburgh.
I would submit they aren’t scared, they don’t wanna lose access to power. They will metaphorically(?) suck his dick so they can be in charge of whatever.
Taxis are ubiquitous, and bring a jacket—warm can mean in the high 50s(F) and it does rain on occasion. Make reservations for food! Most places have their booking on their website. Even if you get there & they have walk-in, that’s not always the norm. :)
There are several historic pubs but for whisky, definitely Searson’s on Baggot (plus great breakfast and dinner). Guinness storehouse is amazing, even if you don’t like the beer. Grafton Street is touristy but nice. OH! You can preorder a Leap visitor card for public transport (TFI Leap). 2/
Trinity College is a must, the tours are led by students! If you’re a history buff, Kilmainham Gaol & a walking tour of the buildings involved in the 1918 Rebellion. A super fun tour is the Duck Boat tour, which will point out a ton of stuff about Dublin and Ireland! 1/
Back home after a week in Dublin. Already planning my next trip there. Absolutely loved it!
