Honestly, at this point, just give us the freedom to try our own things. Everything that we could possibly do we have to be given permission for which means thereβs no creativity in the game.

Yes! Everyone I know in local government has ideas (and even former city electeds who are now legislators run good bills!) but itβs like pulling teeth to get the legislature at large to acknowledge the lack of tools for cities. (And donβt get me started on the governorβs record on this.)
My condolences to Miami, whatever you do don't let him anywhere near one of your sports franchises.
more

IDAHO
I feel like we should combine this with wearing tiaras to the game? (This has nothing to do with my ongoing complaint that there are not enough opportunities to wear tiaras as an adult woman.) (also, Hadeel, youβre definitely joining us, right??)
Absolutely!!! Ferries hold a lot of people amirite
Thatβs such a good joke. I canβt even come up with something in response.
WHAT @brittneybush.bsky.social I need a baseball and ferry souvenir date
AND NOT FOR NOTHING BUT THE SONICS WENT TO A STATE WITH AN INCOME TAX. #waleg
Talking about Gary Payton and John Stockton and how we need that inspiration back. Again, I love Gary Payton, but I find plenty of inspiration in the Seattle Storm and Seattle Torrent and you would think given how much I've had to hear Republicans talk about "girls sports", they would too #waleg
This burn gets better the longer you sit with it.
Agreed! I don't think everyone needs a challenger BUT I am stoked to follow challengers like Jessica Forsythe, Hannah Sabio-Howell, Ron Davis, etc. etc. :)
So excited for many of the challengers we're seeing -- incrementalism is tired!
It will still feel quite regressive here if this passes without replacing the sales tax revenue in cities! I'm not sure why the governor is ignoring that huge impact but we have not been given tools to address this (and the gov killed a good one last session!). bsky.app/profile/dodd...
anyway, please fix the Eyman-Gregoire 1% cap while you're at it.
Thanks to Rep. Duerr for simplifying the bill in Local Gov! @davina425.bsky.social

so much of right now is being asked to believe that a known creep wasn't a creep when he was with one specific other known creep

the epidemic of men launching podcasts about nothing has gotten out of control
to combat this I am launching a podcast WITH A WOMAN (veteran climate journalist Tracy Wholf) to talk about stuff that actually matters (the planet being destroyed by the worst people alive)

How do I sign up for more snark?
Building supportive housing for those who would otherwise be homeless is the right moral thing to do. Itβs also the right financial thing to do, since it actually saves public money. Itβs a no brainer, so donβt let wrong-headed ideology get in the way.
Tell your leaders to build supportive housing.
Of course the dad from The Parent Trap went full MAGA cultβsuch is the curse of the Millennial π€£

To be fair it was not *my* shovel nor do I still have it π€£
At the very end I pop in the frame - but I had my own shovel and you can't have it.
The few, the proud, the almost-pictured.
Abolish ICE is merely the starting position. This below is the correct one.
There are a lot of people with degrees and practical planning (and elected!) experience who make policy that doesn't result in more housing. No one should be shutting down concerns with claims of experience IMO.
