Yeah similar to me last year. Won a lot of them over by the end but it was only a short contract so didn't get the chance to keep building unfortunately.

I used to work at the same place for twenty years so had built up respect and know how. Never really had any problems. Since leaving and working at other places less so.

I find you can't say anything now. Even humourously you have to be careful.
Helps if you have won a class over but a lot of kids know their rights but feel they can say anything they want to a teacher themselves.

Then more support is needed and actually paying Teaching assistants properly to support teachers. As well as having more of them.
Classes of 30+ in challenging schools is difficult enough without extra planning as well.
