The Rev. Josselin was also writing a diary in his parish up in Essex but his style, continually praising God for the rain / dry spells etc, makes you realise how modern Pepys sounds.

Yes, am now in 1663 and am so grateful to myself for deciding to start three years ago. Am getting daily emails from www.pepysdiary.com.
Evelyn’s diary is quoted by annotators from time to time and also looks fascinating as he was already an influential figure.
Yes, it’s all come flooding back!
Well, I’m a big Rivette fan, which probably explains why I loved it!
I loved both those films too but can barely remember anything about They All Laughed - just that I loved it.
I had quite forgotten this album existed!
Thanks for the tip Sid - really enjoying this. I know nothing about the creators so will be exploring further.
Yes, just as well it never saw the light of day. It’s mentioned in Vincent LoBrutto’s biography (p229) as something SK and producer James B Harris were interested in developing pre-musical but it never progressed.
Passion Flower Hotel was also a mooted Stanley Kubrick project for a while. Later made in Germany with Nastassja Kinski.
I went down to Shepperton to look at his house last year. Then walked through the wood at the end of the road and over the Motorway, pretending I was in The Unlimited Dream Company.
It’s like a Ballard novel!
Am off to Skagen in May, all being well.
In Luton. Haven’t seen them further north than London until now.
Today I have been thinking about re-watching Cutter’s Way, reading Ada Palmer’s essay on Why all SF and Fantasy Writers are Historians, wondering about the impact of newly arrived parakeets in our garden and whether Bath City FC can pull out of a relegation spiral.
Also yesterday, two parakeets turned up in the garden. Are these harbingers of a larger, possibly disruptive flock?
On the train yesterday, my wife was physically writing a letter and I was reading a print newspaper. A woman got on, sat across from us, and opened a book. She realises the situation and wonders if this will ever be seen again.
Lisa Eichhorn, what a performance.
EXCLUSIVE: At more than 30 installations, U.S. commanders told troops the war on Iran is a Christian war.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been “inundated” with more than 110 complaints.
One NCO said they were told the U.S. war is to bring about Armageddon and the return of Jesus…
Thanks Rich. Pleased the blissful Fleet Foxes won and to have two others listed.
I have bought the Blu-ray on watching this trailer.
Maybe! I got the impression it was in the planning stage but let’s hope for something definite soon.
Surely you need to see the Wurzels with Adge Cutler. The recorded Royal Oak, Nailsea gig for me.
The Imagined Village are reforming according to Eliza Carthy!

5 Miracle Fortress - Five Roses
Farewell to Dan Simmons who, somehow, in one year, 1989, managed to publish masterpieces in three different fields - SF, mainstream fiction and horror. I read them all that year and it was astonishing.
The first woman in Parliament to appear in the Guardian's 'best-dressed at Glastonbury' feature.
You'll never sing that, etc...
Well, that’s good news to wake up to in all sorts of ways.
I don’t often go to gigs where I’m reminded of Bish Bosch era Scott Walker, but feeo managed it tonight at the ICA. Excellent.
Lovely stuff. ‘Hats’ and Kate Bush’s ‘The Sensual World’ came out the week before our wedding and I took them on honeymoon to Zimbabwe with a portable CD player. My abiding memory is listening to them at dusk from our lodge at Hwange Safari Park as the animals came to the watering hole. Perfect.
