Large pink and black sculpture is embedded on light broken rocks with green grass in front and behind, and surrounded at back by dark green trees. Blue sky with many white clouds are above the trees. Sculpture is a vertical diamond shape with two stylised boomerangs in front, which face in opposite directions. The diamond has three thick black lines in ever smaller sized diamond shapes, with the centre of the diamond shape all black. The stylised boomerangs have many thinner black lines in a zigzag pattern.

Visited NGV Aus for the Reko Rennie exhibition, discovering my favourite sculpture at Pt Leo estate was also a Rennie piece.

Sadness may knock at your heart's door many times a day, like an uninvited guest seeking entry to your most soft space. But don’t let it make you miss joy's gentle knockβ€”those precious moments come less often, and you must embrace them when they arrive.

After nearly 15 years in Victoria, I finally got to visit Wilson’s Promontory. I was surprised by the high hills as I’d only seen beach pics of the region. There was low mist over the islands on the day I visited.

If you’re looking for a free way to support an author, did you know you can ask your library to stock a book you want to read that they don’t have yet? And usually it’s a very basic online form? Google your library name plus the words β€œrequest a title” or β€œsuggest a title” to find yours.

Any books by Claire Keegan are short and excellent - β€˜Antarctica’, β€˜So Late in the Day’, and β€˜Small Things Like These’.

Just finished Orbital by Samantha Harvey. Winner of the 2024 Booker Prize. It’s a short book, but has a denseness that slows down your reading, so that you get to chew the words. Set on the International Space Station.

I visited an Alaskan library in 2017, & took note of a series by W. Michael Gear & Kathleen O’Neal Gear, set in North America, starting from ~ 13,000 BC. When I got home to Australia, I starting reading the series by using the inter-library loan system in my state. I’m currently reading book 19.

Suffering horrendous hay fever, even with windows closed and large hepa filter on. Had been using a herbal brand for sinus relief, but it has garlic in it, and my gut niw says no.
Does anyone have suggestions that aren’t antihistamines?
