Ooo nice. Hope it all goes well!
Ooo nice. Hope it all goes well!
Good day to you all, how is everyone?
Things gone a bit crazy over on the Gram since I posted a vid about what Iβd achieved here in Latvia www.instagram.com/reel/DLfTApc...
Hope youβre all doing ok been somewhat busy with going a little viral on IG with a reel nearly on 100k views which is an unexpected surprise.
The cheek of it! #gardening
I made this #Lego storage box for our daughter
These multisown beets are looking good #gardening
Good to get the drone up, first fly of the year. Thankful for the place we live and call home.
Was lovely to see a pair of bull finches feasting on dandelion seeds today. Also we have a pair of fly catchers in one of our new nesting boxes.
Got my brassicas in just before the rain came. Am trialing 2 fertilisers here. On the left is sheep wool pellets and on the right a blend of fishmeal and blood meal.
Greenhouse packed I think we can finally start planting out as the cold spring comes to an end. My tomatoes are still stupidly small this year but I hope they will grow in the ground. Not shown but brassicas looking great this year.
Today we said goodbye to my father in law. He was the reason we moved to Latvia to care for him 6 years ago. Life will be different moving forward. My wife who selflessly and relentlessly cared for him is free to pursue other things like returning to her art.
The new greenhouse control panel is looking real nice. The detailed pre planning this time is paying off. #gardening
Nice stash of hunter based meats from wifeβs nephew, straight from the forest inc deer and elk.
Lovely looking onion and shallot transplants going in #gardening

Battling moles. The better the soil gets the more they arrive and cause chaos. I guess itβs a backhanded compliment. #gardening
Thank you.
Happy Easter friends. Yet still the work goes on. 1140 onion sets planted. 5 rows per bed 12cm on centre spacing giving 380 onions per bed - cosy :) Got some pea nets erected too.
Made my own broad fork today with spare old fork heads and some scrap metal. Handles are new though. Itβs not perfect but it does the job and saved me β¬200. Took about an hour to make. #gardening
Harsh reporting by BBC, I mean heβs late 50s maybe?
I tried βearlyβ last year thinking that was it but with little success. Am trying a different variety this year. I managed to get some savoy cabbage to over winter for a seed saving experiment so thereβs hope!
Wish we could get it to over winter here, maybe this/next year will be our year. We both miss this from the UK.
Day trip to the big smoke today. Get in, get it done, and get out!
Got the greenhouse sorted out today and first succession of crops transplanted . The winter residents always leave it in a mess⦠#gardening
First thing transplanted & sown outdoors - peas (tall). Traditionally sown on the 100th day here. #gardening #latvia
New greenhouse control box fascia and fittings finished.
Getting to grips with @grafana.bsky.social on #HomeAssistant. Still struggling with uploading simple CSV to @influxdb.com for historical data, may need more sacrificial offerings to make it workβ¦
Man uploading CSVs to InfluxDB is hard work. This has to be the worst thought out procedure in the history of IT!
If you want to add to the guilt then add climate π Some of us have a much shorter window to grow squash.
