January 27th is Holocaust Remembrance Day: it marks the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. My grandmother was to be sent there from the ΕΓ³dΕΊ ghetto, but survived because the Russian army came a day early, a matter of 24 hours is the only reason Iβm here. Life is precious.
