My mates dad used to take us to the reserves when we were kids (early 80s). It was great spotting future ‘stars’ stake a claim for the first time and first team regulars coming back from injury. It was also fun to hear the banter and swearing coming from the pitch ….and often the dugout! 😂

AJ’s injury was clearly worse than expected but I think the club is right to keep quiet about it due to the ‘psychological’ impact, both on us and our competitors who may gain a psychological advantage. A bit like when Chessie fell apart after announcing Tsmanga was out for the season that time…

I’ve missed a few more games than usual this season due to travelling etc but I’d have loved to have been in that away end this afternoon. Pure emotion for that winner… 👌

That would make sense as I seem to recall getting each band’s performance onto a side of a C90 cassette, recorded off Radio Trent. Sadly we didn’t get our first (Betamax) video recorder until 1982! 🙄😂

Nice one. It was slightly before my time (not quite old enough to go gigging) although I do remember seeing a poster for the Motörhead gig in the city centre when I was shopping for records and really wanting to go to it! Had to settle for the TV broadcast in the end… 🙄

I can remember watching this when it was first broadcast. I think it may have been simultaneously broadcast on Radio Trent at the same time? Other shows in the Rockstage series included Motörhead (and Girlschool) and one of the 2 tone bands, Specials or Selecter? It was quite a novelty back then.
