There's so much confusion about #comprehensibleinput. I like to express the idea like this:
If you have many *experiences* where people are using a language to *communicate* and you can work out what they're *trying* to say, you will pick up that language.

Even if I don't celebrate their thing, I need to be able to understand and participate in conversations _about_ it. Besides, if you want to really communicate with people you need to understand what matters to _them_ and what makes _them_ tick. Your own life choices are another thing

Hi #langsky, what do you think are the biggest frustrations of solo language learners? I'm hoping to make some short videos to spread some positive thoughts and useful ideas
Sometimes I wonder if "clear international English" should be taught in schools in the English speaking world. The ability to make yourself consistently understandable to a B1 learner of your language is a really useful life skill
Also a child's world is much more concrete than an adult's, so the language they are exposed to is more likely to be accompanied by clues to the intended meaning
