Today I had the first experimentation session on the Donald Bousted double bell quarter-tone trumpet with Maximiliano Soto Mayorga. He will be composing for it with live electronicsπ
Before I embarked on the microtonal route, I played programmes of pieces for with electronics. One of my first collaborations was with a Professor from Huddersfield Uni, Michael Clarke. There were two pieces- 'Prism' and 'Cascade'. The old studio recordings now here:

Finally able to bring the 'Donald Bousted Double Bell Quarter-tone C trumpet' home after it returned from being lacquered!
New Soundcloud page for Donald Bousted's pieces soundcloud.com/donald-boust...
the quarter-tone valve, slide and finger mechanism is now finished on the double bell 'Bousted' trumpet. It is now off to be laquered!
There was the idea that you would write a final movement to Local E that was a kind of Musique de Table if memory serves??
the double bell trumpet is not in 19-div, only in 24-div. It's not yet fully finished- I have to go and test the qt valve/slide next week, then it will be sent to the laquerers after that.
wait a minute, James Gardner liked the post- now I think he wrote for bucket mute: was it you Jim?
I cannot remember who wrote for bucket mute at some point, but I wasn't asked since for a bucket mute, but buying a bucket mute is cheaper than buying an instrument...if I dream about an Eb (Soprano) Cornet then I have to buy one- there's a great precedent!!
During being in bed for almost a week, with no note being played on any instrument, I start buying things like sheet music, mutes, CDs...and instruments. I like buying second hand/ previously owned, but good quality instruments.
I bought a new mute, I wanted to buy a new instrument, but I bought a new mute (below left): a true bucket mute to replace the handmade bucket mute (using a coffee can) mute. Maybe I will still buy a new instrument, or at least try one....

Thanks to Stephen Weigel for having me on his podcast! (The picture is not of one of my instruments)
